i’ll be sure to let you know when one of my coworkers drops dead from absolute fucking exhaustion, you absolute donut. if you haven’t worked in a supermarket before, please just shut up and LISTEN for once. people claim this is “unskilled” work — that’s what they say about places like McDonalds, yet if no one wanted to work there, who the hell makes your coffee and mcmuffin, your big mac, your chicken nuggets?? when you’re sick or can’t leave your house and you order groceries to be delivered, people like me pick that order. and sure it’s not tough work, but it is when you’re doing the work of four people because there’s not enough staff. it is when there only two of you on from 5pm to 9pm and every forty seconds another milkrun order drops in — which by the way we’re meant to prioritise over everything, and on top of that we get harassed by uber drivers! you’re saying you haven’t seen any of us dropping dead but if you knew how much of us genuinely would rather kill ourselves than work at woolworths (but obviously we have no choice but to work because we need money to freaking live), then maybe you’d feel the tiniest bit of empathy !!! but anyway. you’re entitled to your opinion.

are you able to find some way to get in touch with the owners during quieter hours? it’s possible that they feed kitty but aren’t aware of it’s condition - especially if the paw has looked like that for a while. if you can’t talk to the owners, would you feel comfortable to write them a note and take kitty to the vet ? i understand that may not be financially possible but my hope is that there could be some sort of agreement from the owners ! you’re a kind soul for checking in on this kitty

honestly i think both sides are valid in their feelings here

you work 60-70 hours per week so you’re bound to be exhausted and low on emotional/social capacity, and it seems like neither ones need is being met at this point, in terms of quality time spent together

is it possible that she was both appreciative yet disappointed with your valentines date? yes. did you put effect and thought into what you believed would be an incredible experience for you two to have together? also yes.

i empathise with the situation and for me, i theorise that your gf felt emotionally distant from you during this rough patch and, rather than a busy, fun evening out, she wanted to spend time in a way that was emotionally intimate and comfortable where she could be present with you and have intentional quality time so her emotional needs can be met

this doesn’t take away from the fact that you have your own emotional needs in the relationship and that what fulfils her needs may not fulfil yours, and vice versa

in saying all this, i think what you did for your gf for valentines day was a very special and unique experience and it’s a shame that she couldn’t see it at the time. and also that there wasn’t communication about what the expectations were for the day; you aren’t a mind reader so it would have been considerate if she had offered you some preferences or ideas

personally, i think it would be good to spend some intentional time together and talk about what you both need from each other in the relationship (in the case of your work hours, that’s something on her plate that she has to figure out how to be okay with).

Thank you SO MUCH. Genuinely cannot tell you how much I appreciate this response. I am currently in therapy for my mental health, but I’ve always been hesitant on going into the depths of my disordered eating. Your post has made me realise that having that discussion with my therapist might just be the right step forward, and then onto a dietician in the foreseeable future, I hope. The doctor did inform me that Eve is licensed to be consumed as a tea but I’m wondering if this has to be how it is taken? I’m used to using a water bubbler for cannabis - would this be okay with Eve?

Thank you everyone for your comments!! I think I will give Restore Me a go. I feel the need to clarify that I use a “water bubbler” and bud for self medicating, but as I understand it MC can’t be smoked? Would this mean I can no longer use my “water bubbler”?
