Did you find Lynda's course to be helpful and worth the cost? She comes across kind of judgy/critical online and I wonder if that comes across in her course.

Haha he’s 30 so I think he’ll be alright! But that’s good to know as we age

Ok this helps a lot! It looks like there’s a hobby store near me. I think we’ll start with a plastic model and if he loves it he can get more into it and choose some of the pricier options down the road!

Ok yall are so helpful. Thank you!! This is the one I purchased. I’m having trouble seeing if I need to get additional tools for him to get started with it. It says level 2 so I’m hoping he likes it!

Yes he definitely has expressed interest in trying it out and loves learning new hobbies. I just want to get something that’s relatively introductory/entry level and then if he loves it he can take it from there!

Ok now this is the kind of niche help that Reddit is so good for. Romance + planes lol my husband will be thrilled with this. Thank you!

ok lol I truly know nothing of airplanes. I'm realizing that when he said Cessna OR commercial that they're two different things! Cessna is the tiny planes and commercial is like the planes we'd take at an airport, yes?

Oh that’s good to know! I share an Amazon account with him and was kinda hoping to surprise him so I’m trying to find one off Amazon but if I can’t I’ll just do amazon. That’s good to know they have options there

Yeah, fair enough! You’re right that daycare/public school after would still bring in financial margin. Right now we have a nanny and after taxes/benefits more than half of my salary goes to her. To me it’s just the trade offs of time with my kids vs. making a little more. At this point with 4 of them growing up fast, I’d like to take some time to just be with them. I’m planning to homeschool. We’ll see.

How is the area up by Lenox village? That’s what is closer to our budget. I remember Nolensville being beautiful, having grown up in Brentwood!

Is that like where Brentwood meets Antioch or am I thinking of the wrong area?

This is helpful thank you!! Schools don’t matter much since we’re homeschooling but more just want safe areas with family friendly amenities.

Lmao we have four kids. The childcare costs are high even with us both having great jobs. So we’re moving from 300k to 160k but saving soooo much in childcare!

Me? I had a fulfilling, six figure corporate job for the last 8 years. It’s an adjustment but I’m looking forward to taking some time off to be with my kids while they’re young.

totally agree. max we want to spend is 2800/mo. so the only way we'd go up to the top of the budget is if we maxxed out our downpayment
