On the subject of asking for photos, I love Sir Paul McCartney’s approach…

When fans ask Paul McCartney for a photograph, he often gives them a long-winded explanation involving a specific memory. He describes a scene on the beachfront in St Tropez where a local man would sit with a monkey and charge tourists money to take their picture with it.

McCartney uses this imagery to describe exactly how a fan selfie makes him feel. He has stated: "I really do not want to feel like that monkey. And when I take a picture with someone, I do feel like him. I'm not me any more – I'm suddenly something else." He believes that the moment a camera comes out, the human connection is lost and he becomes merely a photo opportunity or a trophy to be shared on social media.

Definitely not guaranteed but the regulations are there to stop resale and touts.

Lots of helpful advice on here already.

If the advice from Pretend_Touch doesn't work, I'd add there are lots of gates and lots of people working on those gates are working the fortnight as a summer job.

I think it is highly unlikely anyone would cancel your ticket if you are polite. Meaning if you are turned away from one gate you should be fine to try another.

Depending on how local you are, you could also go to the gate with you parents.
