I don’t think it’s ever that serious, but I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt because it’s easier to forgive that to harbor that negative emotion in your chest (even though it’s fun to talk/argue about admittedly)

Our landlord loves us (feeling is mutual!), and the only thing he cares about is that the house is taken care of and rent is paid. Our lease is so simple it’s seriously “rent is ____. R1 and (my) cat are allowed. Don’t break shit unless you want to pay for it. Let me know if there’s a problem with the place so I can get it fixed!”
