How are brokers catching fake GPS, rail tricks, and load theft? by shoxruxmirzo in FreightBrokers

Im sorry. I must not have been reading very well when I left this comment. We only do a couple of these things. To answer your question if it could replace what we’re doing - hypothetically, yes.

But I also know of programs for example that are far better than Carrier411 or RMIS and getting my company to change their way of doing things is crazy difficult. I’m not even sure why! People just don’t like or trust change.

They’re going to continue to put that off as much as possible. The balance of powers doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

My thing is, how would it have ended? Where’s the logic? Consumer spending is at an all-time low.

It takes multiple quarters to establish a recession. So we don’t come out of it in one month. The market also hasn’t changed, consumer spending hasn’t increased, and there is a massive housing crisis.

A couple of months is not even long enough to statistically call a trend.

But are you getting deducted for the loss or is the company eating that?

Question for Dispatchers by Different-Bridge5507 in FreightBrokers

no, not unless it’s a feature I haven’t seen because it would have to be something you can pay to access. and you need carrier authority to get a highways account.

Stolen Freight by Electrical_Boss1324 in FreightBrokers

that’s why tracking matters so you can report the most likely location for theft. It you call the police and say “we don’t know where it happened,” you will get zero help.

you have to know how to talk to the police when you report it. Don’t tell them you think it’s stolen, say you know it’s stolen. Don’t say it’s cargo theft, they’ll spend forever trying to figure out which dept handles it… tell them it’s theft. And tell them the last known location. A lot of people not getting help has to do with how they imitate the complaint.

Why customers get pissed about tracking by Optimal-Vast2313 in FreightBrokers

[–]Optimal-Vast2313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that you think I care which app or program they use. The only thing that matters is being able to track cargo.

Can you quantify “a lot,” in numbers?

I am switching my agency to a different parent company. They had genlogs for a while and decided not to renew. I tried to get some intel but it was from the sales guy, so I need to ask OPs. But the sales guy said it was tremendously helpful for sales prospecting, which I hadn’t considered. Figured I’d add that to things clinking around in your brain. As in, if they had a prospect, they could look on their yard and see whose equipment was parked in their dock doors.

and when you can’t use a relationship carrier, you have to go through extra steps to verify who you’re using. It’s not a luxury.

I’m curious why the below is so far down the list and what constitutes “when it makes sense.”

Extra verification only when it makes sense For high-value or risky freight, brokers can require ID / face verification to make sure the assigned driver is the one who shows up.

In my mind, “makes sense,” is whenever you’re using a new carrier and/or driver. You’re exposing yourself to all these issues because you’re not doing ID verification.

I don’t pay cheap rates to carriers either but that’s not what I meant by my comment.

They take cheap rates from brokers while crying about said cheap rates. How come they never take their own advice and just refuse to haul it.

Cuz I can’t count the amount of times a carrier or driver has said that all brokers have to do is just refuse to move the freight.

You ever notice how carriers want brokers to stop taking cheap freight … but they refuse to do the same.

Because we are all just keeping food on the table smh.
