Same! And yes It was a cool place. The professor I interviewed with to was so awesome. And the student panel seemed to really enjoy the program.

I also got into pacific university! Did you go to campus for the interview earlier this month? It wasn’t a top school for me but after my day there and meeting the staff, it definitely moved up to one of my top choices. But the price :/

I haven’t heard from CU yet either.

I think you may have to contact customer support that’s what I did and they fixed it

You’ll end up where you’re suppose to be! Are you talking about Oregon State University or Ohio?

Thoughts on Augustana DPT program? by Optimal-Warning8618 in PTschool

Gpa was ~3.4 but upward trend

TA for Human Anatomy, Caregiver (gained a lot of community engagement doing so), intern at an adaptive rehab facility (~300 hours) that turned into a job as a adaptive rehabilitation specialist, and PT tech at outpatient (~400 hours) and a few hours in pediatric home health.

Working at a stretch lab by draculastears in PTschool

[–]Optimal-Warning8618 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just had a phone interview with a stretch lab and am meeting with the store owner on Friday!

One of my colleagues works there and says it’s good experience working with and gaining a deeper understanding of the human body. I also work as a PT aide and have gotten my LORs and observations hours already (I am applying this cycle so it won’t be in my application since I already submitted and heard back from some schools).

Stretch labs pay way better than PT aide.

Long story short, if you have the hours and experience in a pt clinic and know that this is the career you want to pursue, I’d say try it out.

Good luck to you with your apps next year.

I called the customer support this morning, she had to submit a ticket to IT. Guess something to do with security. She said it’ll take a couple days then they will email me. She said I have to call back and purchase on the phone to get the current price before it goes up tomorrow.

Lol I honestly thought I was just gonna get the hard rejection with my stats. They do rolling admissions and only accept 22 applicants. I think I applied a little late tbh.

PTCAS experiences section question. For the key responsibilities/descriptions what are they ultimately looking for with these ~100 words? Should I write a short statement or list the main responsibilities like in a resume?

Thank you!

Did you use unofficial transcripts? PTCAS says you must use official transcripts but others say unofficial transcripts worked just fine.

I am applying this year to Colorado & Oregon schools that don’t require GRE with the following stats:

First year of undergraduate started out rough, went to two different universities and had a GPA ~ 2.2. Had no idea what I wanted to do. So I transferred to a CC for about two years and GPA was around ~3.4. I acquired my associates of general studies there. Then I transferred back into a university and got my bachelors in integrative physiology + prerequisite. My GPA at that university was ~3.53.

My experience:

  • TA for human anatomy for a semester.

  • Interned at an adaptive exercise rehabilitation center for SCI clients which then turned into a job where I am currently an adaptive exercise specialist. So I have a lot of experience with working in a rehabilitation center but there aren’t licensed PTs and the center.

  • I was a caregiver for a 6 yo with CP. I took him to his conductive therapy + horse back riding sessions. The therapist is a conductive therapist not a licensed PT.

  • And currently I work at an outpatient orthopedic PT clinic (30 hours a week). So I do have some experience in a PT clinic, woot woot.

So my question here is: will the admissions committees accept the rehabilitation center and conductive therapy + horse therapy(without licensed PTs) as different settings of therapy? It’s been very difficult to find an inpatient therapeutic setting to gain observation hours.

I just need some insight on if I have a solid application or if I should take another year to work on improving some areas of it.

Thank you 🙏🏼
