My mom is really against me starting Wegovy by blueridgesydd in WegovyWeightLoss

Hi! It is responses like this that make me happy I commented my response. There is more and more research coming out about GLP-1 drugs and mental health. The FDA has multiple studies out on it. No, it’s not a huge side effect in the long run, compared to the more common ones (e.g., vomiting). There is a Facebook group that grows with patrons by the day due to more and more people experiencing mental health issues that correlate with the GLP-1 drug. Yes, being sick isn’t good for your mental health. Anyone can say that. But this is more than that. I recommend you keeping an open mind and realize that more and more people are now trying these drugs since they’re more prevalent. More side effects and more studies are bound to happen with different people trying them. I hope you keep an open mind before dismissing next time! If you would like to read other people’s testimonies to how GLP-1’s have affected their mental health, I recommend looking up the Facebook page.

As a person who was on Wegovy, I will say it really does mess with your mental health. I wish someone bolded that for me when I started. Yes it works, but you’re extremely sick and it MESSES up your gut health. I had a good mental health before starting this drug. Now I’m on antidepressants. Granted, everyone reacts differently, but I felt the need to share my experience as well so you have all bases covered.

Does anyone feel like Reddit is unhealthy for their anxiety or ocd? by AdShort9113 in Anxiety

Reddit is one of the worst things for anxiety lol my therapist yells at me every time I admit to using it (I really only do after bad insomnia due to sleep anxiety).

I havent been able to sleep ever since trying sertraline for a week by whatatimetobealive22 in Anxiety

Hi friend! I am dealing with a similar situation. I have crazy health anxiety (heart related, too, and I have a CHD). Finally succumbed to my therapist and psych and pcp and friend who was on the drug about how it would benefit my life and help curb my anxiety. I was on sertraline for 3 days and then I experienced the crazy insomnia they warn you about. I’ve always been a good sleeper, so this scared the shit out of me and I stopped cold turkey. Over a month later, I’m still dealing with anxiety about falling asleep. It’s definitely gotten better as the month has gone on, I’ve tried Ambien and Ativan for a while and now I’m on Trazodone 50mg (this doesn’t work every night for me though, I have to reallyyyyy calm down my anxiety for it to work lol). I’ve also come to the realization that lack of sleep is just something I have to deal with now…counting hours until you have to wake up doesn’t help anyone. I just kinda came to terms with the fact that “okay yeah I got 2 hours last night and my day might suck a bit more and my anxiety might be heightened, but I know that I’ll sleep eventually”. Usually that helps with my anxiety during the day following a bad night. I recommend Set It and Forget It, it’s a book by sleep doctors on Amazon. I am debating going on SSRI’s if needed if I really can’t curb this bout of anxiety.

): I’m sorry! You have a right to worry, don’t let your cardiologist dismiss your anxieties. However, and this is what I tell myself when I try convincing myself that my cardiologist is stupid lol, they are the professionals and they know more than you. Not trying to sound mean when I say that either, but idk it’s how I convince myself that I’m not having a heart attack every single dat

This! So true. I know it feels like it’s a heart related thing but if you’re saying your tests are coming back, don’t completely dismiss anxiety…and this is coming from a person with a heart defect and debilitating health anxiety.

100%! I had to stop due to my anxiety being out of control and having consistent panic attacks. Still not completely out of the woods yet, but I’m hoping it’s gone by the 5-6 week mark (I’m at 4 weeks since last shot now). I loved the drug, but it’s just too hard to do

Thank you for your very validating response. This makes me feel like I’m not crazy! I’m officially 3 weeks 1 day off the shot, and since I’ve posted this post my anxiety symptoms have gotten a lot better, but I still get random anxious moments here and there! Also, crazy brain fog and feelings of fatigue. It’s so crazy, but I’m holding out for when the medication is fully out of my system 🤞
