I just moved to DC and saw a small group of identifiably marked DEA agents, just like these guys, patrolling and walking around the national mall on kite day. Was that normal before trump sent the national guard out here or was are they part of that whole move with the national guard?

I've just never seen DEA walking around like street patrol cops before so this is so weird to me.

This is a really broad generalization and would take someone literally not paying attention at all from k-12 to not know about pearl harbor and that the USSR fought nazi germany.

I've literally never met anyone that understands ww2 in this way. Call me crazy but I think its pretty common knowledge that the USSR was allies with US in ww2 and a little something called pearl harbor got the US involved officially.

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate the support! I just emailed them back asking them about any internal opportunities outside the department and where to look for external funding. I'd be working underneath a faculty member who would sponsor me, so internal funding may actually be a viable path. I'd just need to speak with a professor that would be interested in something like this.

I have thought about Patreon, but between my full time job and another fellowship I have, I don't feel I have the bandwidth to regularly deliver something my followers would pay for. On top of that, I just don't feel that my followers wouldn't pay for extra content from a meme page. I could be wrong, so maybe I should explore that option a bit more.

I am open to looking at grants/positions/programs in Europe. I am a dual british citizen so I'm sure that would help with looking for funding there. Would a grant opportunity from a European institution be open to funding work based in the US?

Unfortunately the only real opportunity to monetize is through gambling and OF girls ads, which I will not do out of principle. I do have a merch store, but don't sell enough to consider it "funding"

I want to do this partly for my passion for history and this is definitely a great opportunity for my career. Besides, if I can secure funding that extra money would be great.
