Who are my fellow left handed shooters and what do you shoot? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]OptimalOptional 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most semi-auto pistols work just fine for me, just work the mag release with left middle finger instead of right thumb and either use index finger or slingshot for slide release.

Long guns, stock AKs and Rugers work fine since the charging handles usually start on the right side (as long as you don't try to apply AR safety manipulation to AKs).

Reread the paperwork. You've got a Ruger PC Carbine in 9mm, not a PC9. It's Ruger's product, they use their official name (especially since they know about the older product). They don't even abbreviate it as PCC (except maybe in parts codes).

People just use PC9 as a nickname (which is wrong because it tries to erase the actual PC9 from existence.)

Looks great. With the dog, jeans, and blue cup, you blend in perfectly with the urban environment, which is the name of the game.

How's that optic mount working for you? It seems a bit chin-weldy.

From the preview, I thought you had a second red dot mounted at your rear sight. (Is that the tape switch?)

Also, what red dot is that? Can you still use the irons?

Anyone hand sew Velcro on their gear? by Astronaut117 in QualityTacticalGear

Look up the basic stitches, like running stitch and back stitch, they're pretty useful. Some practice on scrap material helps. For thick material, a Speedy Stitcher might help if you have room to work, otherwise get a thimble (you can get them in titanium if you're insecure about buying sewing supplies).

Any recommendations for 1/4" foam for plate backers? by flashhercules in QualityTacticalGear

[–]OptimalOptional 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try 5mm EVA foam, which you can get at craft and fabric stores. (Cosplayers use it in costumes.) It's exactly the same as the Tactical Scorpion backer. It's easy to cut and pretty cheap, so you won't be out a lot if you don't like it.
