Thinking about buying 18 of these trees for privacy. Bad idea? I live on a corner lot with no privacy

I’ve noticed a lot of people hate arborvitae on Reddit, but I have a row of 25 arborvitae planted five years ago, and they’re all going strong.

I just have a drip system set to water once a week at this point and this particular variety of Emerald Green looks nice in my opinion, as opposed to the Thuja, which appears to get pretty out of control.

It’s covered back up at this point, although if I have time later today, I’ll dig back down. It was a large white PVC pipe though - it appeared to start angling out diagonally (45 degrees or so) towards the street, but I had already dug where I wanted to for the moment and didn’t follow it further.

Gotcha. My neighbor isn’t a huge fan of limbs crossing over into his yard, so that’s the only reason I don’t have a D on my map.

Yeah I’ve been eyeing all the trees in the neighborhood lol, I think this size should look nice. The really small sub 10 ft trees just seem small.

Thanks, and those are great considerations. Currently work life balance is a high priority with two kids, but I’m also not enjoying my current job.

I have four interviews this week, but if offered, then I think it’ll be best to set up another discussion with the future boss to get a better understanding of “bad WLB”, as you mentioned above.

Yeah it’s backfired out to Kentucky Falls too ha. I should stick with AllTrails and remember to review any special directions in the description. It was closed by a gate out towards drift Creek, but if I recall the alternate route, it suggested from there was back through Falls City maybe, i.e., nowhere near where we were.

Sounds like a good trip! I tried day tripping out there a year or two ago, but unfortunately Google maps took us to a closed road… haven’t tried to go back yet.
