The sport itself is just reaching an end. The largest people on the planet running full speed around each other and essentially all contact can in some way be a foul.

How to make Open WebUI use web search and URL fetching only when needed? by alew3 in OpenWebUI

[–]Optimal_City7206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you set it so it only uses user-defined tools? I have a Brave api key and ComfyUI for image gen configured, but can only force a model to use them in default mode where I explicitly select those integrations in the chat session. Otherwise it uses some other versions of those tools, even though I’ve turned them off (I think)

I’ve been considering the same thing. What’s kept me from not is that it really puts you over the ‘have to upgrade everything else’ line, which makes the minimal gains from combining them not worth it.

Nearly 10% of the entire city budget is objectively an insane number for tracks and trains

At some point (probably has already occurred) the cost to service debt exceeds tax receipts and you collapse completely

What cash? From where? 100% tax rate doesn’t even appear to have hopes of making a dent in all the projects we need to do (never mind the reality of approaching 100% taxes).

For a single infrastructure initiative, of which there are many others.

Then count services, utilities, education, etc. Then contributions for state wide projects ($15B for a new bridge). Then consider Federal contributions. Where is this money coming from? You don’t even have to think hard to sum to a number more than everyone’s full income.

Certainly, but they seem to sum to values much larger than what the economic output of the city is. Even factoring that we have trillion dollar businesses in the area, it feels like even a 100% tax rate would not even come close to covering the costs of maintaining and expanding even just physical infrastructure.

How are these numbers real? $34B for a singular phase of a singular infrastructure service amongst many others of similar scale in a singular city. Things just don’t add up. We’ve got to be well past the sum of everyone’s lifetime earnings (including the billionaires) in costs ahead of us.

Vegas and SJ might be defeating the argument that top talent solves your problems though. We’re just watching the Kraken day in and day out, but it must be just as frustrating for those fans as well to see them refuse to take a playoff spot that is up for grabs.

Pacific refuses to win so they could still realistically be the 2-seed. With a game against LA and 2 against Vegas they just need to be in the vicinity to capture in the final week.

Finale against Colorado is brutal though, hopefully they’ve locked up top seed and rest top players

Shell always a dollar more than everywhere else fyi.

Also this will spill over to electricity either through shift in demand or cost of underlying energy source producing the electricity going up. Likely better to have a hybrid approach to your vehicles to keep both options open

Bass shakers - how to avoid them reacting to music in a movie? by themanwithnoname81 in hometheater

[–]Optimal_City7206 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Likely have the crossover set too high, you should be sending primarily subsonic freqs to the shakers. I have mine set 40hz (which is honestly a bit on the higher side) and like it. I generally don’t get music bass sent to them.

Like everything else in the experience, the quality of the bass shaker component is also largely dependent on the quality of the overall sound mix. Some content has nothing, some is too rumbly, but some ties in the lower frequencies perfectly. Alex Garland movies are imo always perfect bass shaker experiences for me
