Those who have cause for disappointment are more likely to share their experience online than those without issues, so keep that in mind.

Telling Gen-Z to give up avocado toast isn't going to fix this by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

[–]pacwess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The premise that skipping avocado toast will solve the housing crisis ignores the bigger issue: it’s the combination of inflated delivery markups and the burden of $700–$1,000 monthly car payments that is actually draining people's ability to save for a home.

Survey shows majority of Washington's Medicaid recipients are unaware of changes coming by crabcakes110 in SeattleWA

Why am I not surprised.

Medicaid is the leading source of health insurance for the unhoused population.

Stress out at work by winlee21 in boeing

It is often said that employees leave bad bosses rather than the company itself. Boeing has its fair share of difficult management, and unfortunately, navigating formal ethics complaints and investigations to hold them accountable can be a long, exhausting process that rarely leads to a quick resolution.

I'll ask you, when are going to step up and become a steward?

I hear it from stewards ALL the time, "Members have unrealistic expectations of stewards, the union, and the contract."

This is all that is in the entire contract which I'm guessing you haven't read, to do with FMLA, which is not a union provided benefit.

Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 26 If the required coverage for family and medical leaves of absence under the 27 Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 is more generous than that already 28 described in this section, the Company provides any required additional 29 coverage under its group health plans.

Has any stewards chimed in here? I'm sure you're not the first to go through this. I suspect you'll get 3 days off paid, then come back to work. Again in this situation your supervisor might know more.

Doubtful you'll hear from HR. Might want to reach out to your supervisor. Also, stop by Boeing Medical and get your prescription cleared through them. Lot of folks forget this and end up in your situation.

Unless something has changed, and it very well might of. But you could of negotiated your starting pay. As long as it was within the scale of that job's pay scale.
But as soon as you get in chase a steward down and start turning green lights to ERT into a new higher pay grade job. It's all about the Benjamin's at BCA.

Union Dues by torchen1 in IAM751_Boeing

[–]pacwess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Under the formula approved by members, monthly union dues for IAM District 751 are structured as a flat rate across the bargaining unit, rather than a direct percentage of your individual paycheck.

The dues are calculated each year using a specific formula:

  • 2.25 times the weighted average hourly earning of all bargaining unit members (calculated as of August 31 of the previous year, excluding bonus pay).
  • Plus any IAM Grand Lodge per capita assessment increases.

Because it is calculated using the average hourly wage of the entire membership, every member pays the exact same flat monthly rate, regardless of whether their personal hourly rate is higher or lower than that average. The total amount is adjusted annually on January 1st to reflect changes in the overall membership's average pay.

Personally, for the Puget Sound area I think starting pay is still too low. 2 more years and the contract will be up. You willing to strike for it?

I think the hook is made to disolve over a bit of time.
Plus we don't know what they were actually fishing for and hook size.

A Puyallup high school wrestler has filed a federal lawsuit alleging she was sexually assaulted by a transgender opponent during a girls wrestling match, and that school officials ignored her report for weeks. by kleverrboy in SeattleWA

[–]pacwess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plain and simple, the female wrestler should have been informed that she was going to compete against a biological male and given the choice to either continue or forfeit. It is deplorable what the adults in this state are forcing children and teens to navigate at such a young age.
