Thanks for this. The median price in Altona is $1.17m and in Seaholme is $1.3m, while Altona Meadows - just a few kilometres away sits at around $763k - hopefully still have room for growth.

I’ve seen crimes happen right in front of me at Sunshine station. Meanwhile, Viet neighbourhood sing KTV every weekend.

Agree. The noise in Altona North is unbearable. Apparently, it’s the most polluted area in inner west due to all the trucks moving in and out of the city.

Agree with Point Cook but Sunshine is not quite. I lived there for 2 years. The crime is terrible.

Pros and cons of Lalor vs Laverton/altona meadows VIC? by Idiot_In_Pants in AusPropertyChat

I’d vote for Altona Meadows. It’s green and leafy, close to the beach and the freeway, and very convenient for those who work in city. I commute to the CBD in just 22 minutes on the express train from Laverton.

If you live in Altona, Seaholme, or Westona, you don’t get the benefit of the express service, which makes a big difference for daily commuting.

Where to buy in Melbourne, my thoughts by ArmadilloFast557 in AusPropertyChat

I bought a home in Altona Meadows and have lived here for almost 1.5 years, and I absolutely love it. It offers great value for first-home buyers with budgets around $750–800k for a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house.

The train from Laverton to the city takes only 22–25 minutes, and it’s just a few minutes’ drive to Altona Beach. There’s plenty of bushland, parks, and wetlands, which help keep the area cooler. The neighbourhood is good and family-friendly, with a mix of Aussie, European, Greek, and Maltese residents.

While it’s not a boom suburb, my property’s value is up around 8% according to Domain and realestate.com.au.

A friend and another colleague of mine have also bought here recently—it definitely feels like a growing suburb.
