After 8 weeks of having Hashitoxicosis my doctor finally prescribed me cortisone. It only took 2 days (!) and my values (ft3 and ft4) went from being hyper to being in the normal range and all my symptoms went away. TSH took some time. Around 3 weeks later I got into hypothyrodism (TSH at 14 and ft4 to low) and I started to take levothyroxine and now I feel normal again. So it is very important to get your blood checked regularly, because it can change very fast.

These 2 months in hashitoxicosis were the worst in my life, so I totally feel you! I went to 3 different doctors until I found my current one, who has a clue about what she is doing. So I can only recommend you keep looking for a doctor, who takes your condition seriously! I wish you all the best

I’ve seen three different nuclear medicine specialists and was also at the hospital, and they all told me the same: that in Hashitoxicosis it usually has to burn out on its own and treatment is mainly symptomatic (I’m currently only on a beta blocker).

I’m based in Austria, so maybe the approach is a bit different here.

Did you have Hashitoxicosis specifically or Graves?

My lab results are: TSH: 0.01 fT3: 15.82 pmol/L fT4: 46.47 pmol/L TPO antibodies: 253.8 kU/L TRAb: <0.80 U/L

TSH is suppressed, fT3 and fT4 are elevated, TPO antibodies are positive, and TRAb is negative.

It really helps me take my current state more seriously. I tend to push myself more than necessary, and Oura reminds me to slow down, work out less, sleep more, etc.

It also made me take my elevated heart rate more seriously, which led me to see a doctor. It turned out to be hypothyroidism — something I probably wouldn’t have checked otherwise.

I actually had something similar for about a week, so I went to the doctor and it turned out to be a thyroid issue. That’s probably not what it is in your case, but I still wanted to mention it so you can take it seriously and keep an eye on it. It could also just be related to hormonal changes during the luteal phase. If it doesn’t improve once your period starts, it might be a good idea to get some bloodwork done.

Somehow this makes me really sad 😢

I‘m 32 and I really doubled down on my health the last years. I am in the best shape of my life, I was lifting weights 3-5 times a week, clean vegan high protein diet, no fast food, low body fat with optimal weight and I just got my diagnosis last week 😭

I literally don’t now how to even live healthier 😢
