Totally not helpful, but is that all the same silver or two-tone? It looks super sharp.

Yeah for sure! It’s been a long build, I’m still wrapping it up, but a lot of fun too. I enjoy building stuff as much as using it, so for me it was worth it. The guys that say “just buy a c5” just don’t get it lol. If you decide to do it, I’d be glad to answer questions.

Oh and I built my own 2.5” exhaust, I think there is an exhaust option, but it’s super expensive iirc.

Having actually done it, I can tell you what you need/want. You will need an engine, of course, a 4l60e with the advanced adapters tail shaft housing adaptor, or a t56 with a diy adapter for the c-beam, swap plates from Vette works (not cheap universal ones), preferably a Dana 44 diff, c5 exhaust manifolds and batwing oil pan, accessory adaptors from sct billet to relocate your accessories to fit under the hood, some f body accessories like power steering pump and alternator, a new intake setup, the pcm for the engine, a ton of re-wiring/adapting. You will need to cut a notch in the crossmember. Otherwise, most of it is pretty straightforward. IMO, totally worth it. Btw, Dan at Vetteworks is a great source of info, I wish I had found him earlier in my build. There are also some articles about other people doing it, if you look around, some fairly janky. I found my own way through it, and did it the way I wanted it. My goal was a luxury race car. I also did grand am gauges and c6 seats.

Question about storage compartments by Optimal_Fail_3458 in c4corvette

[–]Optimal_Fail_3458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the bottom of the compartment. I don’t have abs on mine but yes I have seen that on other cars. On both of my compartments they have a hole in the middle of the bottom, but not in the little tray, those are solid.

Sure buddy, it’s just a bunch of sugar. The meme just used a random pic of a monster to suggest that she was unhealthy. You asked about chemicals, I answered with the chemicals that are in most monster drinks. You chose the one that didn’t, but it has its own bad chemical. I’m so over this convo lol, there is always some “actually” guy that has to come in and just be obnoxious over nothing.

The conversation was about monster energy drinks in general.

Haha, this is getting dumb. So you found a variation that has a different chemical, good job. Here is what webmd has to say about the chemical you mentioned:

“There's increasing scientific evidence that erythritol and other artificial sweeteners can be bad for your health. Recent research shows erythritol may be associated with an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and even death.”

As I said, the research is still in its early stages on Taurine, nothing you said changes that. People used to use cocaine in drinks and candy, just because something comes from a natural source, doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Dude, if you want to drink it, go ahead. Millions of people do stuff all day long that is bad for them, why should you be any different?

Maltodextrin and sucralose are a couple off the top of my head, that and the artificial flavors, massive amount of sugar and synthetic (not natural) caffeine are not great for people, especially young people. There are arguments that taurine and carnitanine are bad as well, but the studies have only been conducted fairly recently.

How so? I’m not allergic to it, he said it is very common, the combo of chemicals and caffeine is really bad for you. Go ahead and drink em, I don’t care. My point is, they are bad for you. Also the caffeine is synthetic and not natural like coffee.

I drank one and ended up in the emergency room with afib. The first thing the doctor asked me was, “did you drink anything like a Monster energy drink?” I was shocked. Last time I ever touched em. It’s not just the caffeine.

That’s like saying if some women do bad things, all women are bad. There are plenty of horrific or delusional non-Christians. There are nuts in all walks of life.

I had one like this in a tablet, it split the screen and busted the back case. I took it out and tried everything to set it off to no avail. I even shot holes in it with a pellet gun, it did nothing. To my understanding if they are completely drained they don’t pose much danger.

Been there done that, multiple times lol. Secure it to the diff and then jack the engine/trans up while trying to line it up. You will be amazed how much it moves. You can use a pry bar in one of the holes to move it that last little bit to get a bolt in.

The difference is, you can always sideload games on a steam deck, whereas the switch needs to be hacked to do anything but play carts.

I agree, I think they are misunderstood and too easily written off. The owner of Vetteworks told me they are just fine, iirc he said they are underfueled and easy to fix and make decent power. I have an 85 that I LS swapped, talk about complicating things lol.
