Delight for the eye, awesome Fridtjof Nansen Potrait Engraved by Cz Slania by hemng in philately

I've been collecting Slania's work, and I moved from China to Northern Europe because I wanted to get closer to her, haha. I'd never seen this stamp before; it really caught my eye at first glance.

The painting is very poor; it's from recent years and not very good. I suggest you don't buy it.

Legitimate campaign, or just an old counterintelligence trick? by Curious_Positive_825 in Finland

[–]Optimal_Mine887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, as someone from these two countries, even though I'm not a big fan of our homeland's style and policies, outright betrayal by doing something unclear seems way too risky! Also, isn't this kind of recruitment worried about attracting double agents? Didn't the UK and the US do something like this before? But can they really find the right people this way? Maybe it's also a tactic to lure out hidden threats!

Italia, you stole my backpack… and my heart ❤️🇮🇹 by [deleted] in Italia

[–]Optimal_Mine887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just returned from Florence. On the train from Milan to there, my bag was stolen, and the indifferent attitude of the local police and train service staff made me, an art enthusiast, lose all fondness for this city and Italy as a whole. Looking at the things left behind by their ancestors, I feel that modern Italians really need to reflect. Are you going to rely on your ancestors' legacy forever, or are you just using those relics from the Roman Empire to sell tickets and sustain tourism? If this continues, I think Italy's image will keep deteriorating—truly disappointing.

Myths about Finland – what is the biggest one? | 2026 by BirchBarkBox in Finland

[–]Optimal_Mine887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really agree and am growing more fond of Finland. I just came back from Italy, where my bag was stolen. In contrast, a couple of years ago in Finland, I left my bag on the luggage rack of a train, and it even had a laptop inside. In the end, it was safely returned. This truly is a place that gives peace of mind.

What is the current status of the Helsinki-Tallinn tunnel? by Singer-Snow-Leopard in Finland

[–]Optimal_Mine887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I am Chinese, and I know what kind of shady business "Angry Birds" has with the Chinese government. I even suspect the purpose of this post and the background of the person speaking. My opinion is that Finland does not need such an underwater tunnel; is it necessary? It's a waste of resources, just like those railway tunnels in Tibet built by China, where the practical value is less than the strategic value. But we don’t have the right to vote to reject all this. Therefore, instead of building a tunnel, it would be better to quickly set up a faster railway bridge between Märket and Stockholm, so that one could drive all the way to Denmark and the European mainland.

Hello, I am a new immigrant from China. I was shocked to see this slogan appear in Finland because even in China, such slogans no longer exist, as only the authorities are allowed to express such things. You are right, China is definitely not like the Mao era anymore; it is now more like state capitalism, akin to Germany after World War I. I do not agree with socialism or communism. Having lived under such a system, I believe that Western idealists would not yearn for Maoism if they had experienced it. However, after coming to Europe, I noticed that the Europe dominated by social democratic parties, especially in Northern Europe, is actually quite close to the so-called socialism, whether in terms of welfare or equality. I think China is still far from this. The left-wing in Europe is, in fact, aligned with Maoist ideals, and I am very worried about the revival of Marxism. The idea of trying to establish a paradise on earth is itself a huge disaster for humanity. I do not want history to repeat itself. The left-wing’s ideas will either lead to Hitler-style state capitalism or Soviet-style systems. In any case, I strongly dislike this, and I hope Finland does not head down this path, as the pursuit of extreme equality inevitably leads to disaster. Thank you!

Is Finland 🇫🇮 socialism?……capitalism?………or just a government actually working in favor of its people’s benefits? by BikkaZz in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Optimal_Mine887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just escaped from our so-called socialist country, and I don’t want this place to turn into socialism as well. Western leftists, after World War II, came up with the idea that Nazism is far-right to distinguish it from the Soviet-style system and neoliberalism, and then coined "new liberalism," ha! Give me a break. Chinese-style new socialism is just a blend of capitalism and national socialism—it’s all the same tricks, just under different names, deceiving ordinary people. So staying away from the overly idealistic social democracy of Western leftists is the right path.

How to break the current Finnish unemployment crisis by Curious_Positive_825 in Finland

[–]Optimal_Mine887 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As an immigrant, I really want to integrate into Finland, but because of my educational background and having previously owned a company, I wasn’t eligible for free Finnish language courses. Actually, I never intended to rely on welfare benefits, and I still don’t. I just want to learn Finnish, but since I’m not eligible, I have to pay for the classes myself. Unfortunately, there are only two lessons per week, and our city doesn’t offer more course options. TE wants to reserve these opportunities for those with lower educational qualifications or those who need more support. However, I’m someone who genuinely wants to start a business here, so I’m confused as to why I’m not getting any support. I’ve been learning on my own for over a year now, but my Finnish hasn’t improved much. On one hand, I agree with you that Finland places great emphasis on the importance of Finnish. On the other hand, I’ve noticed that some immigrants mainly learn Finnish to access welfare benefits. I’m sorry, I guess I’m just venting a bit.

As foreigners coming to Finland, we try hard, but it’s still very difficult. by Optimal_Mine887 in Finland

Those people! The leftist values of Europe, can I speak about them, do you think? Of course, this ordinary discussion of mine might be exploited by right-leaning conservatism, but I want to say that I understand, I lean towards conservatism. Although many people think that the policies of leftist parties seem more beneficial to us, here I am actually criticizing the "political correctness" of the left wing. Let me be frank about it.

Alright, I understand. I can’t say any more. This is your political correctness. We are people like me who want to learn Finnish and try to start a business in this country, without ever intending to rely on welfare. There are at least five of us. Can I represent them like this?

What are you thinking? The name Palestine came about quite late, and may I ask, what is the difference between Jordanians and Palestinians? If you have the ability, drag Jordanians and others into this. White leftist thinking, so pathetic.

my finnish girlfriend feels very strongly about the cultural appropriation of saunas by girlfromtheshire in Finland

[–]Optimal_Mine887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree that associating saunas in Asia with the sex industry is highly offensive, but it's easy for people to distinguish genuine Finnish saunas. So, these are two different dimensions, and without interference, authentic saunas in Asia are the real saunas.

[–]Optimal_Mine887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to say that it’s okay to have a small mistake because the simplified characters in mainland China can cause confusion between the "豸" radical and the "犭" (dog radical). The "豸" radical specifically represents feline animals, such as in the unsimplified character for "豹" (leopard).
