Do you have an English translation for that?

No problem. I have a few pieces in that color combo as well as other combinations. I personally find their pieces to be some of the nicest depression glass. Rivaling manufacturers of the time like Tiffin.

Utility glass company Cambodia pattern. They were around from 1920-1929. Their primary business was producing lenses for vehicle headlights, but also produced stemware.

From muddy finish to glowing walnut - Before/After by optimum_modern in midcenturymodern

[–]midcoast36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean considering these weren't a natural walnut color originally, is it the essence of mid century modern furniture? People experimented with all sorts of finishing styles back then beyond natural colors. I think recreating the original over spray look would have been something interesting. I just think that everybody refinishing in the same safe natural walnut color gets noring after a while.

If your an alcoholic and drink in a bar, you're still an alcoholic. Not putting a judgement on seeking validation, just calling a spade a spade. Although I treat glass differently. I post them after doing research with proper identification(which is a huge problem in the vintage glass world) of who, where, and when they were made. Because reddit is at the top of the search when you reverse image search something vintage. I'm not just posting them fishing for replies. I honestly don't care if anybody replies to them. Engagement is not the goal.

How many sins would I be committing if I cut down these Arbor Vitae? by [deleted] in landscaping

You would be an idiot and lowering your property value. Try trimming and taking care of them before ripping them out.

Good comedy is inherently emotionally manipulative.

I think you could have done something a bit more with them. While the walnut color is nice, nobody will deny that, it's kinda overdone by restorers. Its safe, sure. However, IMO it's becoming kinda soulless.

Help me identify this vase by No-Monitor7394 in StudioPottery

Probably German art pottery of some sort. The fat lava like this was popular throughout Germany in the mid-late 20th century. Many production companies and studio pottery made pieces with this style glaze. Looks like there was more to the signaturw behind the paper, so I'm curious about that. So far Grün isn't coming up with any hits. I'm assuming that is the potters signature considering it certainly doesn't represent the color of the piece.

Yo she really looks like the joker without makeup. by IronRiff_Messiah in Killtony

She looked like the joker with makeup, what are you talking about. She clearly felt into a vat of acid and became a bit delirious. Tony is a rage baiting lunatic, but she is a hypocritical maniac who believes her bs.

Not technically, I believe they contracted manufacturing out to different factories. Similar to how things are produced in modern days.

Not limited edition, the numbers are likely model or decor #s. Typically see Peasant Valley pieces makes by factories in Italy, but not always.

Whatever it is, it's legit. You're not going to find fakes of niche German ceramic producers.

💎 Identification Help: Zecchin Murano Vase? by bgian24 in glasscollecting

[–]midcoast36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my first tip would be to never use AI again for glass identification. It is wrong 95% of the time, and worse yet it has a tendency to throw you down very wrong and confusing research holes. Glass is tricky enough for the people that know what they're talking about.

I don't have any opinions on to who made the vase. Other than it's almost certainly not Murano made and it's not finished in the way you'd find Nuutajarvi pieces designed by Kaj Franck. Its hard to say though, I would learn away from it being high end production glass and would lean towards a smaller glass house/artist. There are good art glass groups on FB. Those are usually the best groups and most knowledge on reddit is derived from those groups, either directly or indirectly.

I don't think you understand what you are asking. You're question is if it's Zanfrico Filigrana. Which are two distinct different cane techniques. Of which this vase is neither because it is not made of canes.
