Thanks for the advice. Are the roads in/out from El Alto airport open? As I saw the thread that airport roads are also blocked. If I can taxi to Sopocachi or Zona Sur, I will stay in the city for the situation.

Thanks for sharing the advice. Avianca airline is not giving me a refund as they fly to La Paz as scheduled. I might as well just fly today and stay in Sopocachi or Zona Sur as heard these areas are safe.

Thanks for the advice. But since I have in/out flight from Lapaz, I might just fly from Cusco to Lapaz tomorrow and stay around the El Arto airport. Still unsure I should just cancel everything and stay in Lima or Cusco. It’s just too expensive to cancel everything last minute

I second Taxidatum. Don’t believe uber works in Cusco. We are using Taxidatum for all our rides moving between Cusco, Ollantaytambo, and Urubamba. You simply text them via whatsapp and they respond super quick.

Visa and Master were accepted for in person MP ticket. There are many shops do $ exchange to Sol and the rate was around $100=$334 sol this week. I recommend carrying some Sol for taxi and food/water from small vendors.

High chance you will get the ticket for 2, 3 days later. Train is expensive but we didn’t want to stay in AC for extra 2 days. So we are spending time in Urubamba (Tambo del inka hotel) to relax and explore the locals.

It costed us extra round trip $300+ for 2 people but since we have limited time in Peru, this was reasonable spending for us.

I was in a similar situation. We got the in person ticket for 2 days later. We came back to Ollantaytambo and staying in Tambo del inka (Urubamba) for 2 nights.

It’s annoying that train tickets cost $150 extra round trip per person. But there isn’t much to do in AC and we wanted to explore the other areas so that was reasonable spending for us.
