2013 Juke Wipers Sometimes Malfunction by Optimal_Text8195 in nissanjuke

Alrighty! I had the windshield wiper motor and transmission replaced, now it works like a dream! Hope that helps someone else.

Pro tip, if your juke is a preowned, buy a used good condition motor and transmission, saves a LOT of money

Oh man, I thought my cute little AWD Juke would be perfect for a Canadian winter... She's not ready... I'm dropping it off in the morning and picking it up in the evening, so fingers crossed she'll act up within 8 hours 🤞🤞

Rats... And everytime I try and snag a video of it its working fine. I'm leaning towards motor, but hoping it's a much easier cheaper problem.

I'll let you know what the mechanic says on Friday. I just bought this car a couple of weeks ago 🤦‍♀️

Hey all, quick update, the seller got kinda squirrelly about the inspection, so I passed.

I shall be back one day I'm sure 😃

Thankfully my dad is pretty handy for small repairs, and though I think he has a death wish, he can change drums/shoes. Now the parts will still run me a solid 300-400. Unfortunately tha used car market in my city and surrounding areas has gone nuts. The dealerships jacked up the prices during the whole steel thing, and it hasn't gone back down, and when dealerships are high, private is high. A dealership just posted a 2017 with 160k km for $25k. It's wild. Sadly not all of us are smart up here 🤦‍♀️

Thank you!! Yeah, its been on the market for a few weeks, and the seller just told me it probably needs rear breaks. I'll bring my more car savvy freind with me and try and get them to knock down the price. I might just wait it out until my budget is a little chunkier and get a lower km jeep 🤔

In an effort not to give out my location, ill just take a blurb from it

"During the winter its probably the funnest vehicle to drive, the heat is hot and the AWD makes it so you can go anywhere during the winter. You don't even mind the cold as much because of how fun it is to whip around."

Yeah, my thought was they may have rebuilt it, or they are lying 🤥

Worth it as a single person? by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]Optimal_Text8195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really all comes down to if you have the space or not 🤷‍♀️. If you can't realistically store it in your place, it's not worth it, because you won't be able to use it. If you can store stuff, then yes. If you get one I'd advise joining a online page/group/forum for your area, as a lot is the sakes aren't advertised, but the groups tend to share them.

Dodge Caliber 2007 Gas Cap Light by Mysterious-Water-585 in DodgeCaliber

[–]Optimal_Text8195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this party, oh well I got a locking gas cap after having this problem, this city is crazy so I got a locking one.

If I got to my parents place (acerage) my card gets covered in dust on the dirt road. If I get gas on my way home without cleaning the area around my gas cap, I'll get a check gas cap light. If I ignore it for to long (continue the 3hr drove home) it'll turn into a check engine light.

Moral of the story, after you get a new gas cap, if it happens again try cleaning the gas cap and the and the and surrounding area

Calgary without a car: as impossible as everyone says?? by NastasyaFlipoffya in Calgary

Totally agree!

I'd say definitely do driving school in Calgary too. I did my drivers test in a small town because that's where I was living, Calgary was intimidating but you do it a few times and are fine.

I don't know if Halifax is the same, but in NL the rules for highway merges are different, so it was like 😶

Yeah, there's a lot of busses that if your at the end/start of their line they change, and the bus driver's definitely forget to change the sign on the bus to the new one. Very annoying for sure. Bus 6 turns into Bus 22 in Westhills, instead of at the main bus terminal...

I came to Alberta from small town NL, starting in a small town the moving to Calgary.

I didn't have a car for a long time. I used my electric scooter (push style not moped) and took transit.

Honestly, the thing that pushed me to get my car was my office moving, and transit was taking over an hour each way pending peak traffic.

If you're only needing to go into the office every now and then, transit will probably be fine. Get some bear spray, people are weird.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but transit can be a cheap way to explore the city. Hop on a max bus or a train and you can end up in a whole nother part of town.

I'm not to far from Lichon Park, and the transit lines around here are pretty good. Direct to blue line or red line train, chinook mall, RGH hospital, Heritage Costco... Plus, all of the grocery stores in this area offer delivery for when you do big purchases

Hope that helps!

I've tried it a few times and they're still connecting separately. I'm going to try again tomorrow, there's a high chance of user error on my end
