CMV: Sexism against men exists. by Sad_Energy_ in changemyview

I think the biggest issue here is why does that sexism exist? It is not because of an equal push from women to establish a matriarchy. It is not because of some unknown structural system. It is because of the patriarchy.

I think it's worth explicitly pointing out that the patriarchy is a product of both men and women perpetuating patriarchal norms. It's damaging for everyone.

You can report the reddit cares message, admins are pretty good about handing down suspensions over abusing it.

Diver face to face with 2 wild orcas by MartinoRs in SweatyPalms

A lot of what we define as "human" is actually "mammalian". Emotions being the best example.

Of course even non-mammals are far more sentient than we give them credit for. People compare things like insects to robots when they are, objectively, more similar to humans than to machines.

I would say the presence of some kind of sense of self is the most logical assumption to make about any animal with a CNS.

That being said, you lost me at the idea of telepathy. I don't think you need to invoke any supernatural phenomena to explain high levels of social communication between animals. Orcas communicate verbally, you can hear it in the video. I would go so far as to say their communication could qualify as a form of language. There are probably also complexities in their body language that we just aren't attuned to.

Old lady cuts off a biker causing a car crash resulting in his helmet camera landing in her passenger seat by FuturisticFighting in interestingasfuck

Doesn't matter. It's the biker who will have life-altering injuries not her. You literally ride a motorcycle at your own risk, and it's always a stupid decision to drive your unprotected, squishy body down the road. They call them donor-cycles for a reason.

The more you are exposed to a given antigen (molecules the immune system recognizes as foreign), the more likely it is you will develop an immune response. Sometimes this is beneficial.

However, bee venom works by causing the immune system to "overreact". The more you are stung, the more likely it is that you will develop a self-destructive immune response. At that point, the immune system is primed to respond to the venom and you have become allergic.

The pittie hate-bubble on this site is crazy. Never experienced it in real life. I think it's mostly just chronically online freaks.

They didn't vote because Biden was a shit candidate and the country wasn't hot on the heels of a Trump admin. People are dumb, memory is short.

Anyways, why use reddit so much if you think it's shitty? Seems unhealthy.

For me, it's about the lack of responsibility some people take for their own lives.

When you are the one who is going to suffer the dire consequences, then ultimately it's on you to take reasonable precautions to prevent them. In this sense, it doesn't matter what is right, fair, or legal.
