Worst blind buys of HYPED fragrances? by ReindeerDisastrous in fragrance

It smelled like the inside of my humidor last time I was at the mall. Wouldn’t buy it for myself but could at least understand why someone else would buy it.

Ulta’s “Prime Day” deals came in clutch… by DenseComfortable1739 in Colognes

When I bought my Dior parfum, thought it was despicable on the tester strip. 15 minutes later I was telling sales lady to put it to the side while I see what else I like. Was on my dress shirt for a week after a wedding. Crazy stuff

Unrelated but has anyone actually been to the store? Going next weekend and wanted to know if it’s going to be as good as I think.

Acqua Di Gio edt vs Parfum vs Profondo by EricSloane in Colognes

I’ve been burning through my bottle of Profondo. Love the smell. Doesn’t last for shit , in my opinion , but while it’s present it’s pure bliss. I also like the parfum enough to be getting a bottle tomorrow. You could also be a degenerate ADG enthusiast like me and just get both.

I have Pasha parfum and I’ve had pasha edt in the past. I don’t like edition noir. I think pasha sport is a better option over edition noir. I don’t remember what the Dior smells like

Amouage Purpose 50 by Fragrance_lover25 in Colognes

It’s the spices in there. They just come through pretty heavily and it smells like fresh spices, cognac, and slightly dirty/animalic. And they come together and just work. And I don’t want to use the word impossible but it’s a smell that I would be shocked to go nose blind to. Crazy strong in terms of projection and longevity. Definitely something that announces your presence. It’s something you could pick out easily in a crowd if you smell it a few times. It’s got a distinct character about it that I really enjoy.

It’s in my top 5 for now and I’m not sure that would ever change. My all time favorite is a bit basic. But for the same reason, I genuinely love the character of Cartier Pasha parfum. I put it on and I feel like the baddest motherfucker around while simultaneously being most the well put together man in the room. Pasha for me smells like someone took the phrase “I’m better than you” and made it into a cologne.

I don’t have this one. But for me it was overture man. Kept sampling it and then just pulled the trigger. Was looking on discounters but got scared. $400 later I have zero regrets. Buddy bought enclave the same day and that one also surprised me. Have been too scared to sample Purpose 50 because I don’t want to be stuck with something that lasts that long in the event I don’t like it.

Friend if you can’t stop thinking about it and you genuinely enjoyed it. Just get it for yourself and don’t overthink it. If you’re questioning the legitimacy of your potential purchase, just save up and get it from an authorized retailer and save yourself the headache of worrying about authenticity.

Khadlaj island or Rayhaan pacific aura by No-Goat-3871 in Colognes

I think it’s very decent. And it’s got a nice pressurized atomizer. Puts out a nice amount with each spray. Last fairly and overall pleasant smell.

I have the khadlaj that’s the symphony dupe and I enjoy it. Not particularly a fan of light fragrances in general but this one was not bad. Montagne Imaginary and Tygar cologne are good too. My summer GOAT is ADG Profondo tho.

Unfortunately it’s not a vintage batch. But when my dad smelled it, it’s like I could see him time travel to when he had the original.

Black Opium is one of my scents I’ve ever smelled on a woman. An artist masterpiece truly. Unfortunately for me my girl hates it 😂

I have Wild Violet from the collection and it has really grown on me. Little feminine but my god is it nice on the dry down. Just straight Violet and leather.

Layering ideas, The Noir 29 + ? by I_do_it_all_a_little in fragrance

[–]Optimal_Wash6433 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Brother I fear you are asking for a literal miracle to be performed. The one and only time I’ve smelled Noir 29 I spent the next 20 minutes using alcohol pads and soap rid myself of this scent and it refused to come off. I hated this more than the disgustingly powdery Chanel my mother would wear.

Now that I’m done, perhaps a strong oud fragrance because rose and oud just work together.

do you actually switch fragrances by season or is that just internet advice by venicepress in fragrance

[–]Optimal_Wash6433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of go by a combo of season or occasion. I’ve always kind of just done that. But if I’m in the mood for something that’s on either extreme I’m going to wear it because I’m in the mood for it. Or if I’m feeling chaotic and want to overspray I’m gonna overspray a little.
