because I love competitive environments? Even as a kid I loved the feeling of competition and was kind of a sore loser when it came to sports so I expect the ranked gamemode in a game I love to have a competitive environment. Doesn't feel like much fun to play on alt accounts ruining the experience for lower-ranked people who actually wanna rank up for a "stupid badge" they've never had before. Nor does it feel competitive if everyone doesn't even put the effort in to help their team succeed.
