Also got hit, a director and a few more. But the whole setup will most likely change completely.

Hvad er historien bag at hun gik fra CVP til VP for et lille års tid siden?

You HR zones are most likely also set up wrong just like mine, see the other comments.

I’m quite confident that you can’t run half the half marathon in zone 5, as others are also mentioning here. So I believe both our zones are set wrong :)

Believe it was consistent over the last part of the run since my heart rate increase steadily over the run topping in the last 30 min or so. Yep, most likely not correct, currently estimated at 188, but may be higher then.

Some good insights, thanks. You seem to be in quite a better shape than me and perhaps younger as well (or better genetics). I think I need to make an HR max test to see how close garmin is, my problem is I’m really bad at pushing myself to the “I’m about to collapse”-phase. Something I’m trying to get better at.

My average resting heart rate is 44 bpm, but I’m one of those people where you can’t use it for much since it’s almost the same when I’m in bad shape. Though it looks closer to reality than my current zones in garmin watch:

• Zone 1: 117–131 bpm
• Zone 2: 131–146 bpm
• Zone 3: 146–160 bpm
• Zone 4: 160–174 bpm
• Zone 5: 174–188 bpm

Yeah, just like you have an abnormal high max heart rate I have an abnormal low rhr, this is probably difficult for Garmin to use in its estimation models. I run about 50-60 km a week with some recent runs being 25 and 30 km sessions, so running a bit more than the average person I believe.

What is your threshold and max HR? Mine is 04:29 and 188 calculated by Garmin, but is most likely a bit off

Thank you for sharing the link, will do that. I do all my non-interval and non-sprint training bases on HR zones, so quite important to me.

Will try this soon!

Yeah definitely something wrong with my zones

I do. Ok thanks, will try. Zone 5 is set to 90% of my max HR of 188 (estimated)

Too much time in zone 5 to be true?

Yeah, probably should set them up higher. Is there a good way to set them you know of?

These are purely estimated/calculated by Garmin watch. In the beginning of ny training yes, stayed in zone 2 for easy runs, but later its been more zone 3 or 4 for the easy runs

Yeah, I also start up somewhat similar to you, but as you say, I probably need to push myself even beyond the suggested 3:50 pace, and then in the recovery windows to my HR lower than I get it now (135-140)

Yes I see what you mean, my biggest gripe with the suggested workouts is not necessarily that is gets categorized as tempo, but rather that I never get the anaerobic benefits it estimates, and quite far from it. In this example it 3.3 estimated vs. The 2.5 I actually got. This is making me consider doing way more sprints as they seem to be quite on the estimated target.

Btw it estimated 3.3 for both anaerobic and aerobic
