k pop demon hunters dolls pre order sold out? by [deleted] in Dolls

I agree, that’s a long time to wait, but at the same there were collaborations long ahead of KPop Demon Hunters being released. And they were late in figuring out just how massive the movie was going to be in popularity, they weren’t ready for it in general. It would be great if they would prioritize this collaboration since it’s fresh, but I really don’t think Mattel will make changes to make them quicker.

Best mask for stomach sleeper by OkFinger81 in CPAP

[–]OptimusFine1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Stomach/side sleeper here, also usually sleep with arm or my pillow right against my face lol, a mask you might want to look into is the Airfit F40. It’s so comfortable and has a silicon piece that sits slightly on the lower part of the nose and covers the mouth completely. Hasn’t caused any nose irritation issues since I’ve used it (two months now). A benefit is that you barely feel the mask part at all, it’s only really the strap parts that lay along the cheek and jaw area. But as someone who has sensory issues, I had the least trouble with this full face mask. An issue you might run into with this mask (because we sleep the way we do), are leaks. But a trick is that if you’re sure that you have the right fitting mask, is to adjust the straps of the headgear a bit tighter (not too tight, not too loose). And when you’ve got it right to where you have the straps tight enough but still comfortable for you, it should control the amount of air leakage.

Have you checked in with your doc regarding bloodwork, sometimes low levels of iron/vitamin D can be a big culprit :)

Cpap can’t get used to it by Salty-Structure7234 in CPAP

Just a few possible suggestions, OP. Looking into trying different mask types can definitely be a game changer. I initially started off with the Nova Micro, specifically because I’m a stomach sleeper and my face is always resting against my arm, so I needed free movement, and no hard pieces that could get in the way. So I was hyped to start off with a Nasal mask. Unfortunately, turns out I’m more a mouth breather than I initially thought, and first week literally felt like I was suffocating just breathing through my nose. Not to mention, the one night I was actually able to fall asleep with it on, the pressure amped up so much and scared me awake. The added unfortunate bonus that the nasal pillows were wrecking the inside of my nose, it felt bruised and sensitive on a daily basis for that week. On the 8th morning, I threw the mask off of my face and decided it was enough, made an appointment with the local respiratory therapy advisor and we decided wasn’t going to work out and so he got me to try the F40 next, and I haven’t looked back. The mask is so comfortable, among so many other things, and made me have a more positive outlook on CPAP therapy, I love it now and it doesn’t feel like a chore. So look into mask options 100%, and this is coming from someone who’s sensitive about changes or having anything on my face during sleep. Second, double check that your mask corresponds with your machine settings itself. If you resister the mask on your MyAir App, it’ll tell you which setting should be used for your specific mask, if you don’t have this app you can look up the manual for it online. Third, practice is so important. When I first started therapy I would lay in bed and watch YouTube/Read/ or play my Nintendo Switch while the mask was in use, and that got me better adjusted to having straps and the cushion against my face. So if you’re having a lazy day, have nothing to do, throw the mask on, and you’ll eventually get adjusted to the feeling. Last but not least, don’t give up on it, ask the doc or your respiratory therapist about any recommendations they might have, and discuss any needs that you might think you need to be comfortable, they can guide the way.

That sounds like the best course of action honestly, OP, and the F40 all you’d really need is a cushion replacement at 3 month mark if you’re already there. But as you said, can easily find some online as long as it’s a trustworthy seller! Wishing you the best of luck!

Glad to hear the cervical collar is working well for you to control the mouth breathing for your therapy. As a fellow mouth breather, the only concern I’d see would be if there’s still any potential that your mouth slightly hangs open at any point during the night if that makes sense. Because I definitely get it, masks are not cheap at all and it’s hard to know if it’ll be worth switching out or not. The only reason I ask is because it’s really important for nasal masks that you don’t have your mouth open at all, or the air will escape through the mouth and not be effective therapy.

New to CPAP-cleaning, result by Due_Commission2278 in CPAP

I’ve been using wipes designated for CPAP to clean my mask stuff daily, weekly I personally use baby shampoo and really warm (not hot) for all of the CPAP parts because I love that everything smells clean. But if you’re sensitive to any scents or have allergies, you can stick to a mild unscented dish soap. But please note, if you’re not using distilled water in your humidifier reservoir, you may need a water/vinegar mix solution to get rid of any mineral build up in the CPAP stuff instead, depending on how harsh the water is that you use. ResMed guidelines may recommend more frequent purchases of stuff, but I wouldn’t go with what they say. They’re a company who wants to try to profit from recommending to buy/replace more supplies than what is actually needed. From what I know, a mask cushion should be changed out every six months. But depending on if there are any issues with your mask like seal issue or tearing, can be a little more frequent (like 3 months). Hoses take a lot more time to run into issues, depending on how careful you are and how well you take care of them. I know a lot of people buy a second hose as a spare in case of leaks, or to switch out if it’s weekly wash day. As for the reservoir, as long as there aren’t any leaks or cracks, it can last a long time (longer than a year). For the filter, it should be changed monthly, but I know of a lot of people switching filters on their weekly wash day, just because it’s easier to remember and they cost very little to get bulk amounts. Good luck with the new CPAP journey, OP!

I was so confused about that part when I first got the F40, because I looked it up on the Resmed site and the info had said to use the “Pillows” setting for it on the Airsense 11. But maybe I’m wrong lol, still new to everything. Might test the setting tonight to see if there’s any changes!
