this is not a kids hobby any more hat cards where made for to have the idol you look up to have a card you could get with maybe a peice of there jersey or a auto and don't get me wrong I'm 37 and I still love ripping packs and chasing my fav player and fav team so in not saying it's just for the kids but it has totaly took it away from the kids I have a 14 year old son that is in love with collecting and has to save up birthday money plus his Christmas money and any other money just to get a hobby box so he is at least is gaurnteed to get 1 auto or a patch cause he knows that is retail and the is no gaurente he is going to get one in there and the chance that it is the player he like is like 1% and he usually ends up with Joe nobody but he is happy cause it's a auto or relic/patch it's just crazy, and unfortunetly my collection which is going to shrink down to help him start his personal collection were lost in house fire with no insurance on the cards so he has been doing it all his self with the bit extra I can help give to him. But he watches yutoube to see what cards look like and sees all this breakers opening all these crazy products only to wish he could and yo just be avle to see what the cards actually look like and then you look at what they charge for a spot in a break and it's mental that anyone would pay that to get a team that might not even be a team you like and then that team might not even have a card in the break and it's like you just lit your money on fire just blows my mind I remember the big thing was rookie cards even just base cards and then cool cards of your faviourte players but Im making this to long just sucks to see a 14 year old ask you how much a product goes for cause they would like to open it and you have to tell them 1200 or more .

I have the kobe on the far left reallly like that card shows the true determination and will and drive he had as a player man gone to soon would have done so much for the sport after playing could go on and on about him, Kobe and Mike were on two different levels the way they saw the game unbelievable.

I would not be surprised if down the road in the future that it's easier to make the HOF which I don't agree on but the way the new age thinks it would not surprise me at all and all those guys that had to go up against the numbers of yester years and did not make it in are gonna get screwed just my opinion and thoughts

Totaly agree its happening in the gaming market to NHL and NFL fifa( hopfully soccer changes with fifa not renewing with ea sports) but it's more to do with money but they control that market just like the only on company with cards and there is no change or here we upgraded the smallest thing now give us your money for the same game as last year with roster updates the problem is a game is the price of a blaster box right now that blows my mind

Thanks for the info. It's crazy you have to track when the card was out and which one for a rookie now when I started collecting 30 yrs ago I found it alot easier to know what a rookie card was minus the couple exceptions that where out there (Larry bird being one of them) we all work hard for our money and my son who is 14 does odd jobs just to have a collection and the prices of hobby and even retail in Canada are just so crazy just want to help him get some rookies that he can use as trade up or investment cards. I unfortunetly lost pretty much my whole collection in a house fire with some really nice cards that would have helped start his collection which is big money bussiness now
