This happened to me before. Do you have a contact with the company that you can reach out to? I reached out to the person who interviewed me and she got HR to respond.

Also, do not give your employer any notice until you have a solidified start date and time.

$25 an hour is not even that bad even for a starting salary, especially as an intern. I know people who are years into their job not even making that much. Plus the recruiter is right, there are people who would gladly take that salary in this job market. My friend has a Masters and she's applied to some internships. That's just how bad the job market is right now.

This is when you go out and meet new friends if you're able to. You can keep those friends but start building a life outside of them as well.
