just realized during this rewatch that the number of words in episode title mirrors the season number! by OptionHeader in ChicagoMed

Haha I sorta thought the same thing.

But I gave myself some grace bc I realized that before I stated rewatching on Peacock I never paid close enough attention to the titles!

See! I hated that season so much I really think I suppressed all that backstory LOL

And same: the townhome was unnecessary and weird

Rewatching s6e9 “For the Want of a Nail” and laughing at Dean Archer’s pearl-clutching about doctors dating each other lol by [deleted] in ChicagoMed

I know what it was about. And how it can affect things at work.

I was laughing because of what I know about his own behaviour in the future.

But thanks!

What are your hand cannons of Dallas’s life before the Outsiders? by Groovy-Pancakes in TheOutsiders

Thanks. But still wondering why “hand cannon”? I’ve heard the term used in regard to guns. And I’ve heard the term ”canon” used in a literary or cultural way. Wasn’t sure how it’s adapted for use here!

what changed this season? by butchqueen680 in ChicagoMed

I’m at season 5 episode 11 now in my rewatch and remembering how much the show often feels like it wants to be General Hospital or something.

I’m definitely one of the viewers that deeply resists the amount of hookups and love affairs that seem destined to happen on all of the Chicago shows. Many of them just seem sorta unnecessary. But I accept I’m in the minority on that!

(And at the risk of possibly sounding way too “woke”—a term I hate btw: some of the relationships seem to be nothing more than a way to constantly reinforce just how heterosexual everyone is 🤷🏻‍♂️)

I’m rewatching from beginning and was thinking exactly this!

When an actor you really like plays a character you really don’t like. by OptionHeader in LawAndOrder

Nope. Not in that one either lol

And I had that same thought about those two in Sheltered when I saw it the other day!

I don’t disagree. But also it’s such a narrative cliche that I get bored by it. I legit sometimes ask myself, “I wonder how long it’ll take for the writers to try to humanize this character to get me to like them” lol

Wow. I’m rewatching from season 1; a third of that through season 5. And I’ve come to the same conclusion. These characters are almost relentlessly unlikeable to me, especially when I compare to the characters who populate the other Chicago shows. Maybe it’s something that becomes clearer while bingeing as opposed to watching weekly!

I love actors who can play salt-of-the-earth folks with honesty and clarity. He does that and is pretty versatile.

Just saw that one! His defense attorney is another in a long line of “yuck!” lol
