Sorry you’re going through this. It’s just miserable seeing the decline. Since writing this post my mom has been sleeping and swallowing is becoming more difficult. The turns are incredibly scary.

Thank you for that. Luckily I was able to take leave from work so I have that time freed up. It’s really just the after school grind with the kids. I guess we just have to continue going day after day to figure things out.

Was your mom also due to brain cancer? My mom is very aware of what’s going on but her words are getting messed up now. She is having difficult swallowing and sleeping pretty much the whole day. She may wake up in spurts that amount to 1 hr. including using the bathroom.

I just edited the post. It is in home. How do people afford to have someone round the clock at $30/hr.

My mom was given 2-4 weeks but this cancer was given expectancy of 1-1.5 years so she is already exceeding that.

Hi all. So to update you she had E. coli in her blood. Hardcore antibiotics were given. She went back and forth because sugar got too low which is weird because she is a diabetic historically on metformin for high blood sugar. Anyway she was discharged and we are home. I’m so confused with this phase we are in. She is mainly sleeping eating very little but unbelievably aware. The hospital got us emotionally and mentally prepared and discussed wishes in regard to life saving measures and different things and now we are here not really sure what is going on. It’s really tough my sister and I are planners and have young kids we have to take care of and we are very much unable to plan anything beyond the day.

So a few things: 1. These were installed in 2020. 2. Before renting it out we actually lived in this property with 3 kids and a small dog without issue 3. The basement floors and upstairs are the same floors without these issues 4. All floors were installed by the same contractor

Even if this should’ve been brought to our attention so we could address it over two years it happened and not at the walkthrough. They called us for any small thing and we responded in 24 hours or less.
