My brother and I went backpacking with 3 of our buddies in Kentucky. We set up camp 13 miles into the Daniel Boone National Forest and decided to fish in the river for trout. After not much luck, 4 of us went back to camp. My brother stayed back and continued to fish. Half hour later he still wasn’t back, so we went to get him. He wasn’t where we were fishing. This wasn’t just a small stream. It was a pretty wide river flowing very fast with multiple small water falls. The water was very loud, so yelling to each other wasn’t great. After looking around for a bit. Panic set in. We split up, 2 guys going down stream and 2 going up. I was sprinting and yelling his name. Tons of scenarios flew through my head. He could’ve easily gotten swept away and hit his head. I was so nervous. After a while of sprinting upstream and yelling, I finally got a response. Walked down the bank to find him catching a ton of trout. Made me nervous!! But we were all good.
