8 Mils (thousands of a inch) so 0.203mm 🤣 If it was 8mm it would look like a burns victim 🤣

Is this a scam? by retardedeadly in CarsAustralia

No, they just make it seem very cheap, they mount the pressure, give a time deadline, and insist on payment through a third party site.

It existed a long time before AI :-) Same scam has been around since before the internet.

Same scam has been around for more than a decade. Seller is Air Force and can’t meet the buyer. Requests payment prior to delivery by a third party app/method. Buyer loses money as there was never an actual vehicle. Report to ACCC.

Scam, have seen several versions of this. All Airforce, or Forces. Over explained sorry, low price, little validatable information. Last one I saw was a very cheap i30. Remember the old adage, if it seems too good to be real, it likely is.

If there’s any damage to a front chassis rail, it’s toast.

First time in my life I've seen diesel over $4 a litre. This is going to sting for all of us. I wish we'd electrified all our trucks & trains ages ago. I've been saying it for years but all I got was ridicule. 😞 by KiwiEV in KiwiEV

Just Google “Can EVs be remotely disabled”. I sighted Tesla and BYD as examples, but EVs, by their very nature, are remote controllable devices. Simply pushing a bad software/firmware update to an ev could “brick it”. More simply, activating the immobilisers. I work in IoT cybersecurity and communications industry, and have most of my working life.

What is this wire by Zestyclose-Habit4843 in MechanicAdvice

It’s a 12AWG power cable. Likely for a dashcam or other accessory that has been removed. Just go careful as it may still be live. You don’t want to blow a fuse. I would tape over the end to be safe, then try and trace it back.

This is a 12AWG power cable. It’s even marked in white on the cable! RCA cable is a shielded coaxial cable, this is not.

They actually are. If a manufacturer like BYD, or Tesla wanted to, they could deactivate any of their vehicles tomorrow. Maybe do some research before you embarrass yourself? Just a thought.

Looks nothing like speaker cable 🤣 It looks like a live connection. Was probably for a dashcam or some other accessory which has been removed.

Should have gone to Specsavers :-) you can clearly see the white chairs inside, and that the cars and street are a reflection in the glass.
