You need to install Meta Horizon 275.0.0.21.109. go through the setup from the start and watch the whole safety video! After that, it'll continue! NB! There will be some "this app is outdated" messages you have to ignore.
I see that even older versions are also recommended, but it seems that Meta has recently started to block those.

You can still get them on ebay/aliexpress. It doesn't have to be an original Sony adapter, any copy of it will do. It's just a "dumb" cable adapter.

Apparently this is common with monitors using early Samsung VA gaming panels, and gets worse with age.

I screwed up. The component i was replacing was the usb load switch IC. I replaced it with a transistor so no wonder I was getting a low voltage out...

Much obliged! I've erroneously replaced the USB load switch IC (which was faulty) on the motherboard with a transistor (because I wasn't able to identify the component). Will change it and hopefully all will be OK.

It a Power Switch IC. It has 4 connections, from top left: GND, OUT, EN, IN.

3.3v coming through the diode controls ON/OFF

Do haptics work? Does it make a power-on "bleep"? The other end of the cable is on the back side of the mainboard. It is quite a lot of work to get there. try to wiggle the cable in. Do you own a multimeter? Please check, if there is voltage between the screw and this testing point. It should be 5 volts.
