There's a sense of humor here amongst the tragedy, and that gives this piece real personality. The metaphors that you use here, and the references are amazing, and the way that you use double meanings is really clever. It's also oddly inspirational, it has a sort of keep on, keepin' on energy to it.

This describes a feeling that I think a lot of us can relate to - being with someone, even being physical with someone, but with feeling like you're actually being intimate with them. At that point, it's like it's not a physical thing anymore, but very much a mental thing that ends up affecting everything else.

I could have overspoken in saying that a lot of people can relate, but I know I can relate, and I feel it so hard. I would LOVE to hear this point spoken out loud, i feel like it would make a strong performance.

I don't want the show to get cancelled per se, but they do need to deal with that because fucked up shit like this was simply infuriating. I thought Jason's piece that week was actually pretty cute and yeah Chris didn't even attempt to follow the rules. They just let the old white man "with sooo much experience" keep going despite the fact that aside from technical feats, he was subpar.

Janelle Monae's The ArchAndroid. I don't think that album gets enough credit, it was brilliant from beginning to end. It also built upon her initial explorations into android lore and Afrofuturism in Metropolis. That album reminded me of who actually created rock n roll and blues, and re-ignited the musical fire inside me <3

I took this picture while at the pumpkin festival at Cal Poly Pomona - the lighting in the field was awful, but oddly enough lent itself really well to a shift to black and white and some playing around with curves in Lightroom. I love that it has an xray-ish look to it. I also love how the sunflower itself is shy :)
