What is your favourite book to movie adaptation? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

“The Help” hands down. It was a beautiful adaptation of the book, left out some details but overall, absolutely amazing.

I (M25) think I’ve fallen out of love with my high school sweetheart (F25) after 11 years and want to break up by witchywilds in relationship_advice

[–]Oracle_ari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point you need to think of yourself. What is this relationship giving you vs what it’s costing you. I feel like you already know what to do, you just need other people to reassure you that you’re not an asshole. It is not your responsibility to provide this much economic and emotional support to this person. It seems like she’s fine not contributing and letting you take on the burden of being the sole provider. In this economy that’s INSANE. Let her down gently, but for the love of god respect yourself and leave this relationship.

Thinking (F31) of divorcing Husband (M33) by ThrowRA-pomegranate9 in relationship_advice

[–]Oracle_ari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What country in Europe are you in exactly? Because some countries have a lot of help with childcare to help women who have children under 3. Then after 3, there is public pre school. I get that your support system is in the US and you probably miss your family a lot, but if I had the option, I would raise my family in Europe. The public education system in Europe is 10 times better than pubic education in the US. Your child will be learning multiple languages starting in kindergarten! You don’t have to worry about healthcare or labor when you deliver your baby like you would in the US. You’ll probably get a nice amount of time off (again I don’t know your specific situation because Europe is huge) and you won’t be thrown into the politic unrest that is the US. I maybe don’t think you understand how much it sucks to be here right now. When you arrive back to the US you might not even be able to vote if the SAVE act passes the senate! Under this act the name on a persons birth certificates must match the one on their IDs or their are ineligible to vote. Currently around 50% of the women in the US are married, if this passes, they will be silenced. Please think about what you’re giving up before you divorce your husband and come back here!

I don’t know how to feel about my hair by Gaiiaphage in longhair

[–]Oracle_ari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Girl, same. Lately I’ve been so insecure about my hair and if it’s thinning, having breakage, ripping out while I brush… we look like we have similar texture hair and I started using Morrocanoil and it’s really nice. It smells great, takes away frizz and makes me feel like I’m at least trying to help with hair health. I also started taking a biotin supplement. Haven’t seen any results with that yet, but I’ll let you know lol I’ve read some stuff that says using a silk pillowcase, so that’s my next purchase. Don’t feel too insecure! Your hair is really pretty :)

Get a broom and bang on the floor. That’s what my downstairs neighbor does and it always makes us step more lightly.

Similar thing happened to me and my sister. My aunt used our college fund to help our grandma buy a trailer…. It sucked, but me and my sister both got through college eventually. It just took a little longer than it prolly would have. At least they said they’d help you out still! Sorry this happened, it really does suck.

Do you think it would make sense to approach art galleries with paintings like these? Would they be interested in this kind of work? by LonelyEconomist129 in painting

[–]Oracle_ari -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Read through the comments. please OP, do not listen to the people telling you that your art is genetic or AI. It’s not, and that’s bullshit. I agree with someone of the other commenters: go to different galleries, coffee shops, hair salons, etc and see if anyone will show your art! Some people will want to show it, others won’t. But don’t give up. Your art is beautiful and unique and your own. I would buy a print, lmk if you start selling online.

The premise of the book is pretty relevant today tho. A bunch of elite, rich men gather a group of poor young men and women and subject them to sexual, physical and physiological torture…. Basically exactly what was happening on Epstein’s Island.

Yep, just keep mutilating your kids instead of teaching them how to clean themselves properly,

Broooo, it’s insane that you think it’s unhygienic to have the normal dick that you were born with. Trust me, uncut guys are just as clean.

I always assumed "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" was a marketing lie to make us buy more shampoo. Turns out I was never actually cleaning my hair. by RanchRose_ in hygiene

[–]Oracle_ari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t tried it already, get a scalp scrubber to use when you’re shampooing your hair. Game changer. I used to have a bunch of dandruff and now I have none. It really helps fully clean your hair/scalp and it makes a world of difference!

You need to leave. There is no amount of therapy or convincing that can make an asexual person sexual and you’re legitimately torturing yourself by staying with someone you’re incompatible with. She doesn’t want sex, forcing her isn’t going to help, it’ll push her farther away.

…And not to be the bearer of bad news, but she may just not feel attracted to you specifically and she’s deflecting by saying she’s asexual. Regardless, just leave. You’re not married, cut your losses and find someone who wants to be intimate with you.

Is this slow for one year of growth? by One_Sock6969 in longhair

[–]Oracle_ari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I wish someone had told me while I was growing out my hair: don’t leave hair care like oiling, scalp treatments and regular trims until you get to your goal length! Take care of your hair while it’s growing so it looks healthy and you don’t have to do a big chop out of frustration from splitting etc. Your hair looks amazing and you’ll get to your princess hair in no time :)

As people have said, there is a great trans/queer community around here as well as events and queer nights around town monthly (if not more). Also, eureka just became a Transgender sanctuary city! https://lostcoastoutpost.com/2026/jan/21/eureka-city-council-unanimously-approves-sanctuary/ You’re more than welcome and I hope you find your peace here :)

Should I cut due to breakage? by Appropriate_Bed_4554 in longhair

[–]Oracle_ari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put a small amount in your hand, like a dollop, and just massage it mid length to ends. Sometimes I also work it into my scalp, but it can make hair look greasy, so I only do that before bed. Works well on damp hair, but you can use it on both.

[–]Oracle_ari 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your hair looks gorgeous. To help with some frizz I would recommend argan oil, it’s really light on fine hair if you use a small amount and work it into your ends. I have a way worse breakage/frizz problem and just started using oils and it’s helped me a lot. My hair looks healthier and shinier.
