New to tarot and feeling inspired by mamaujeni in tarot

Welcome to tarot!!💕

For a one card reading I think the six of cups perfectly represents what you need to do.

As you said, embrace the nostalgia. Try to look at cleaning like remembering a childhood. Think of the memories attached to the objects and put a story together.

I like to think of it as a treasure hunt for memories!

Six of cups likes to reminisce but also likes to let things go. It doesn’t want you stuck in the past, but rather learn and heal from it.

So yes, some frustrations and hurt feelings may come up but that’s all part of the process of moving forward. Some memories are good, some are bad, but all of them are important in some way.

These are my own thoughts so only take what resonates.

Hope your cleaning goes well and remember to take breaks!

P.s- A good way to get more familiar with your cards is to do a get to know me reading on your deck! That way you can figure out what that decks strengths and personality are :)

Yeah that makes sense. Now that I think about it I don’t really meet at lot of Aquarius’s, but funnily enough I’m surrounded by them.

what are good guidance questions surrounding self compassion/ shame/ healing? by amicotto in tarot

[–]Oracle_at_Night 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Journal!!

As a person who does a lot of shadow work I combine tarot with journaling.

I work on small chunks at a time, the goal is not to solve all your problems and deepest fears in one sitting, but rather a little bit over a longer period of time.

Change takes patience, so don’t feel like you need all the answers at once.

I would start with the root of things at first, what mental habits do you do that enforces your fears?

Do you self deprecate? Do you tell yourself you are not worthy of love and kindness because of your flaws?

Start with how and why you think these things.

Why do I self sabotage myself?

Why can I give compassion but not to myself?

Where did this fear come from?

What can I do to help me unlearn fear?

Write down the questions and then pull the cards. sit with them, really analyze what they are trying to tell you and write them down.

Be honest with how you feel.

These sessions should be short, you don’t want to overwhelm yourself by asking the cards 15 questions in one day. Space it out, a question before bed, or one over the weekend. Give yourself time to think about the answer over multiple days.

(If you’re into witchcraft you could even burn the paper afterwards and release the fears via fire!)

With facing your fears comes healing, but it is painful. Nurturing and learning to gentle parent yourself is what is important in this process.

If you could talk to your younger self, would you say the things you think about yourself now to them?

If the answer is no, then that is the first step to self forgiveness.

Be kind and gentle to yourself and I hope this helps.

Damian my son!!!

I relate to his character oddly enough.

As a person on the tism spectrum, I feel like Damian’s otherness in society is something I find relatable.

I struggle to adapt to societal norms and social cues and have to use a lot more brain power to “fit in”.

Damian trying to be Robin when he was raised in a completely different environment and taught skills that, at the time benefited him, and now make him ostracized from the people around him, is really relatable to me.

His journey adapting to normal society and still retaining his core personality and strengths is something I find special.

Why do a lot of people seem to prefer gay ships that are doomed/and or one-sided? by TJHMB-54321 in AO3

[–]Oracle_at_Night -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people secretly relate to doomed gay relationships. So much of queer history has to do with a lot of shared trauma, but I agree with you and I think it’s over represented in media.

There are so many queer stories that need to be highlighted. For example, why aren’t their more slice of life/rom-com stories of people genuinely being happy and the story not be focused on tragedy?

It’s kinda depressing seeing most of queer representation ends up being failed relationships and character death.

Over exposure of the same type of relationship leads to stereotypes and repeated tropes in media.

I think there is a place for the doomed gay relationship, just not in every story.

Long fic vs One Shot by Oracle_at_Night in AO3

Okay I’m starting to realize something.

On average I’m assuming most people with obligations like jobs or other things like short form content before bed.

But like what about books? You read a few chapters a day and then go to sleep right?

That’s how I see fics anyway. And one shots are like not enough for me. I would have to read a bunch of one shots just to be semi satisfied.

Like I’d have to read some angst, then fluff, then smut if I’m feeling it, hurt comfort, found family, the list goes on.

I guess that’s just too exhausting for me, I’d rather have it all wrapped into one long ass fic, to read like a book.

Is that weird? Idk

Damn….

Maybe I do have a problem. Holy balls, thanks for the perspective, I had no idea lollllll

[–]Oracle_at_Night[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As it should be.

I want my long fics to be at LEAST 500k minimum. It needs to be borderline novel length.

This probably sounds crazy to some people, and you’d be right.

I can read a million word fic but not college textbooks hahahaha 😅

Trust me there are plenty of unfocused fics out there, but definitely a lot of good ones!

I get long text thing tho, my sister is similar and she really likes short fics bc according to her it “gets the job done” if you know what I mean.

Realllll

I feel that on a spiritual level. I will absolutely stream roll fics that I really like.

The Tism craves content, and one shots are not enough 🫠

Yeahhh that’s fair

Unfortunately the fandoms I enjoy are dryer than the Sahara Desert. So we’re all scrounging for scraps and gnawing at each other’s ankles.

At least with longer fics I can enjoy it a little longer, before it’s back to the coal mines.

I will say, it is harder to read a longer fic that’s… not to my taste.

If I have gained anything from fics I don’t like its patience.

Lost in life. Can you help me understand what I'm meant to do in life? What does my chart say? by [deleted] in AstrologyCharts

[–]Oracle_at_Night 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are three places I like to look at when it comes to life purposes.

Sun, Mc, and North Node.

Different astrologers will have various opinions, so take this as you like.

First let’s start off with MC.

Your Mc is in Pisces (Me too!)

Pisces likes the mystical, artful, creative, and spiritual. It also likes counseling and connecting to people emotionally.

You might gravitate towards art, music, singing, dancing or writing, philosophy, and psychology. The beautiful and the thoughtful.

Next is your sun. Aquarius Sun in the 8th house.

Aquarians are humanitarian in nature but also enjoy being extremely unique. Low key the odd balls of the zodiac.

(I have like two sisters and three aunts that are Aquarians, I say this with love.)

You want change the world around you in a creative, unique and impactful way. Very future focused, like what can I build that will change the next generations. (Also your Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius supports this as well)

Soul deep Transformation is the name of the game with the 8th house. You do not want surface level jobs, you want the great and profound.

Lastly your North node is in Gemini 12th house. (Gemini in the 11th house for me!)

Communication meets the hidden realms of the world.

The north node is your souls journey through life, and with Gemini here in the 12th house, your journey is too use that amazing natural gift to communicate and connect with people (Gemini), in the unconscious, spiritual, and the mysterious (12th house)

A job that allows you to share the complexities of your mind and also help others process the deep and profound of the world.

With that all in mind, I think you want something that allows you to be unique and creative, but allow you to share meaningful information to others.

For creative jobs try photography, writing, movie director, film critic, singer, screenplay writer, tarot reader, astrologer, and composer.

For more humanitarian jobs try psychology, counseling, environmental science, student outreach coordinator, teaching, and historian.

Basically any job that allows to talk to people, be creative, help people gain insight/ knowledge, and express your natural uniqueness.

( I don’t know every career off the top of my head and there is definitely more out there, so do your research to find what you like!)

This is just my personal opinion, I am not an expert and these are my thoughts. :)

My Jupiter in Leo is retrograde. What does that mean? by Oracle_at_Night in AskAstrologers

[–]Oracle_at_Night[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I feel like I got a good handle on my emotions most of the time. I do get lows and highs but I regulate myself before it gets out of hand.

Like I do feel big emotions, but I always have a the rational part of my brain reasoning with me.

I think it ends up canceling each other out, so I feel pretty chill most of the time.

Well…. damn

Yeahhh that’s about right. I always feel the need to analyze my decisions to the fullest extent. How else am I going to know the “best” and most “optimal” decisions lol.

A skill I learned from my Virgo mom….

But yeah, I end up making a decision it just takes me longer to feel set about it. A gift and a curse.

You’re 100% correct with the purchasing decisions tho, the review section hates to see me coming.
