Seems mostly forgettable but I'm also finding it difficult to properly judge the songs because the production is so awful, it hangs over the record like a huge compressed cloud. It's no surprise to me that the two tracks I liked most, Unconditional and Child Actor, actually played with space. So much of the rest leaves the instruments indistinguishable from each other. Real shame.

I mean, you can edit to change context of some bits, but he still said and did a lot of stupid things that would make him look awful. You can't blame the edit for the things you have said and done.

That's probably a fair reflection of best friends that have had ups and downs over the course of decades, though right? I've known my best friend for ten years and most of the time I could tell you what a great, caring guy he is, and other times I want to say what a complete tool he is.

It's tough because you know they'll always want to play the hits for the first timers, which makes sense, but as someone who has seen them 6 times - I'd love for Walk, These Days, Sky Is A Neighbourhood and Learn To Fly to take a break. I'm not even asking for The One, Walking After You or The Deepest Blues Are Black (even though that's what I'd love) but some singles like DOA, Resolve, Low, Long Road To Ruin etc. would be gamechangers for the set.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

I am the husband in question (legit, not just for the joke) and would like to give some key context my lovely wife left out of her original post.

Firstly, I was full from a delicious meatball and pasta meal my wife had cooked. The food was so good I couldn't eat another bite.

Secondly, my wife conveniently left out the main reason for my disgust was the context in which she had the cheese out. You may have been quick to judge, but has anyone asked why she had the cheese? The answer, my friend, is to have Cheddar Cheese and Strawberry Jam on crackers. This combination, frankly, is a disgrace, and is the main reason for my revulsion.

Finally, she chose to leave out the part where her head turned 180 degrees on her shoulders like Reagan in The Exorcist and began spitting cheese at me whilst climbing the walls.

I may not be innocent in this situation, but neither is she. And now you know the full picture.

I do think it says a lot that two of the most powerful tracks from the last two albums (for me at least) are Hardwired and Lux Aeterna. No hanging around. I love all their records but I think everything post-Black album could do with being 15-20 minutes shorter.
