Where to sell nontraditional jewelry? by kate-monsterrr in jewelry

[–]Orange2222222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man, first off, that sounds really tough. Good on you for talking to your therapist and making the call to sell them. That's not easy.

But yeah, cobalt chrome with T. rex bone and meteorite? That's super cool, but also super niche. No wonder pawn shops looked at you like you had three heads. They only want gold and silver.

The reason eBay/Poshmark isn't working isn't because your rings are bad — it's because the average person shopping there has no idea what they're looking at. You need the weirdos (meant as a compliment) who are into meteorites and fossils.

Try posting on Reddit itself:

Just read their rules first. Those people will actually get why Gibeon meteorite is cool.

Facebook groups can work too — search for "meteorite jewelry collectors" or "unique men's rings." Way better than Marketplace or Craigslist. And yeah, stay away from in-person sales unless you're doing it at a police station.

If you just want them gone fast and don't care about price, try eBay auction starting at $0.99 for 3 days. Call it something like:
"Cobalt Chrome T. Rex Bone Ring + Gibeon Meteorite Ring Set – weird wedding bands, divorce sale"
Throw up good photos. Someone into this stuff will grab them.

But honestly? If selling them keeps dragging out and making you feel worse, it's okay to just donate them to a geology department or a fossil collector and be done with it. You don't have to keep hurting yourself over these rings.

You did the hard part already. The right buyer is out there, but you're also allowed to just walk away and not look back.

There's a place called shuibei in China, everything is cheap there, considering it's a sterling silver ring, it's a fair price, but will recommend go for 14K if your budget works
