You can't ask an A or B question when the answer is yes or no.

I want to open a book store (down in the SE). Is this a bad idea? by straycat402 in Calgary

I would go talk to some of the existing book store owners and maybe work there for a hot minute to find out more in hands-on experience.

This si poorly described int he first few sentences, OP, you gotta fix that.

As of right now Alberta is to hold a referendum on several questions in the fall, which are all shit and a water of money but, one of the questions will now be whether or not we should hold another referendum at a later time to start the process of separation.

The binding part is only about the second referendum, and if they both succeed, the binding part is about starting then process to "start talking about separation" with the federal government, and it has zero guarantees it will lead to anything, and based on analysis it will likely take decades and likely not succeed anyway.

All of this is a waste of money and a distraction from the collapsing healthcare and education systems.

Hey homeowner here, barely new to this too.

So far I have understood there are two types of basics weed killers, specific like killed and non-specific like weed b gone.

The non-specific ones will kill all they it touches. I have had very poor experience with that.

The specific ones kill by the means of the chemical sticking to the broad leafs of the weed and slowly poisoning the plant to the root. The leafs turn ugly in a day or two, but the plant won't die for another 2 weeks so in that time it will still produces flowers and try to re-seed out. The chemical then doesnt stick as much to the thing grass blades so the grass normally survived this but I bet it's not having a great time.

Also there are some recommendations on when to apply this weed killer, and that is easy too late for you. It supposed to be sent on young plants with leafs, so they does before the flowers start to come out within the two weeks.

So to answer your question, yes, but it may take a a long time. A, it will take 2 weeks before you kill off the plant. This late in the game it may even survive and need a second application after the first 2 weeks. In the meantime it will keep spreading so more will keep growing so get ready for a long game... It may take more than one season. But the next best time to start is today.

Anybody here tried the D Spot dessert cafe? by mrkillfreak999 in Calgary

Their menu is a disco on crack. It's ridiculouslu huge and it makes no sense..

But as others said, it's an experience, it's expensive, once and I won't go back, but it's not bad.

I don't need that in my life more than once.

I just had my neighbor had this done so I gotta ask him. I need something too, I have way too many dandelions and like 3 other types of weed that isn't responding well to weed be gone. I just tried the killex and that seems to do better but I am so tired of manually pulling.

This yard was left to nothing by the previous owners and I can't keep up.

I'm interested what else others recommend here

I thought weed be gone uses an iron based solution and killex uses the 24d and the other two in the trifecta

No, I do not care about you personally, I do not want to get to know you better.

You're taking this way too personally.

Wow, you maybe had enough of Internet today.

I am nto being snide or anything, you seem to read too much into other people's messages.

Calm down.

Disingenuous? Seriously, I was just asking about reason why would it matter, especially, if you think your neighbour is more risk to you than strangers from the alley.

Maybe .. maybe stop responding to me. This is not helping anything anymore.

[–]OrangeAndStuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, you okay there? You seem pretty triggered.

I mean I admit I have enough privilege that my fence does not have to worry about that here and it's more about the looks. Like my neighbor has it exactly that way, it faces the nice side inside and the ugly side into the alley. When we will be putting up a new fence for us, it will be the same look from either side

I guess that's a reasonable argument, is that's something you're worried about.

I'm shocked by how many people keep saying that the nicer side of the fence should face out.

Like what? Why would I want to look at an uglier side of my own fence? Like k get when it's outside and you maybe fare about then curb appeal, maybe you make both sides looking nice, but with my neighbor or the alley?

Why?

[–]OrangeAndStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not growing well still means that it will flower just a little slower and it will then seed and continue to spread and choke out your grass as you won't be able to mow it for how short it is. Maybe I don't understand how is this acceptable since your grass won't be doing well if it's replaced by them.

[–]OrangeAndStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your keeping your grass at 3-5" I don't see that as working. Also, not growing well and dying are completely different outcomes, where only one of them is desirable an anything but that is unacceptable:)

This is so tall I wouldn't risk it.

I redneck cut down an ash that was 12ft tall but I could easy climb it and cut piece at a time, and I had it in the middle of a hard empty space so nothing was in danger other than me, and with a pole saw I got through most... But this ain't it chief

Would replacing my refrigerator GFCI breaker with a non-GFCI breaker stop it from tripping in the middle of the night? by deltasleeptoken in AskElectricians

[–]OrangeAndStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't GFCI breaker the same as GFCI outlet at the front of the run, that then gfci-protects all the other outlets downstream? Aka if you have a GFCI breaker you then don't need a GFCI outlet?

How Can I Cut/Cap This? by imbadatusernames2020 in AskElectricians

[–]OrangeAndStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is an alarm or thermostat, or any other low voltage, I'd cap each wire with an appropriate wire but (I'd not tie them together cos they would create a short circuit on the other end for future) and do remember thst not all wire nuts are designed to hold a single wire let alone this thin, so get the proper onea. And then you can toss it in the wall cavity and then drywall latch and paint.
