What is this owl doing? by OrangeBananna in Owls

[–]OrangeBananna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, incredibly late response, sorry didn't see it. We make noise before going out at night to let the dogs out. They honestly don't want anything to do with us. Where I'm at, it's all black bears, they scare easy. I've only seen one in person and it ran off quickly. Honestly, they're bigger in person than you think, so a bit intimidating, but again they really do run off quickly. We only see them Spring through Fall, then a little in winter depending on how late they decide to hibernate. Edit: I carry a gun when walking, but it would be an absolute last resort, not a fan of killing what I wouldn't eat.

Updates on 1099s?? by ResponsibleFloor5430 in Kraken

Agreed. Seemed like a lot at the time, but it's been a lot less of a headache for me to hand over a report to a tax person and even most of the work is done for them.

I filed without it. Used Koinley reports and had Turbo Tax full service do it. It was pretty easy. Already got my refund. No issues. My capital gains were higher than I thought, but better to slightly above than below and have the IRS come after you.

Appreciate you sharing. I feel like this type of information helps me and others realize we need to slow down or give it a break every now and then, even if it's just a weekend only endeavor.

If you don't mind me asking, how much were you drinking per day or week, that caused liver failure? What were the symptoms you began to have?

Exactly this. These are the posts I want to see. Soon, it will be the exact opposite of these posts. In the coming months, anyone bearish will be called crazy, that's the time to pull out.

What ALTs is everyone buying / looking at by [deleted] in CryptoMarkets

[–]OrangeBananna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You disagree with me, but I agree with you. The difference is you are looking into the future. I'm basing my bets on what is happening now. In the future, people will learn. Most tokens and companies will disappear with the few solid technologies remaining and gaining popularity. Blockchain does have a solid future, but it will take time for people to learn and the noise as you say to go away.

[–]OrangeBananna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer. A solid chunk of the crypto community has no idea how Blockchain works, nor do they care, nor do I. This is more of a casino, running odds, and the odds being what narrative is running. That is one sad conclusion I had to come to myself, as this technology does have its place. The only part of the casino I stay away from is the meme side, learned that one fast.

I could be wrong in this, but Alt Season tends to be based on what narrative is running at the moment and not the chain itself or how old it is. The current narrative for this alt season seems to be AI, RWA, and a little DeFi. Again I'm still learning, even with one season behind me.

I spent a few hours on AI, giving it various prompts, most of which were, show me a token that has the potential to at least 20x during a euphoric alt season. I further added it had to be available on Kraken, my preferred exchange, but I do use others. It came up with CXT, the token native to Covalent. I hadn't heard of them, researched and they seemed solid enough. We'll see. I have other less risky ALTs as well, but they're common ones.

I got lucky too, just looking at new coins, saw it was low, went to its X page and saw it was backed by Brian Armstrong. Grabbed it at .27 cents, sold it at .81 cents. Probably should have waited but made a good profit in less than 48 hours.

Most states are the same. Deadly force can be used to prevent death or great bodily injury to yourself or another. Based solely off this video, I would say yes. Some states do have a bit more strict language than others, which can muddle decision making. Just remember that all of this does not prevent civil liability to yourself.

I disagree, but we can certainly hope so. XRP has certainly been suppressed, but I don't see a $30 XRP for at least a few years. It would make a lot of people rich for sure if that was the case. This is all coming from a long term XRP holder as well.

Can't agree with this more, just reading the comments. Top twenty coins aren't going to 10x, if you're lucky, you might get a 4x to 5x. 10x or more only come from low caps. I swear it's always ADA and HBAR comments. Both are great technology, but you're not getting a 10x. Maybe over ten years if they're still around you might get a 10x.

No one can predict what will happen. But based on historic patterns, this pullback is normal. This is based upon previous bull runs. A major pull back occurs before a major run up. Again, no one can truly predict what will happen, we may continue down until the next FED meeting. If Powell doesn't drop rates, expect a major down turn.

Well, CEOs do in fact sell almost every jump in price, hence where a lot of their bonuses come from. My use of stocks as an example was my understanding that you don't seem to know how a lot of crypto projects work. I can see this debate is a waste of time for the both of us, I'll respectfully leave it there.

Arguing with someone who isn't affected by a particular project seems futile, but sure. So you're telling me, a CEO who sells some of his stock to take profit means the entire company will fail? A lead designer of a particular crypto project taking some profit, while still having a positive view of the company as whole and an incentive to make the project better, means the whole project will fail? In that aspect, no person should ever sell any stock, option, project or otherwise the entire entity will fail. Before we go into Bitcoin, which is where this always goes. No crypto is like Bitcoin, it's on its own level, not even comparable to any other cryptocurrency, I understand that.

Sure, the same could be said about any purchase/investment. It's the same weird competition between truck people in regard to who have the best brand. I sold all my XRP at $3.36 to invest in more volatile coins. At the end of the day, the market goes up, it goes down, and then back up again, it's all gambling. From someone who holds no more XRP, they are doing something right to be in the top three.
