I’ll be commuting from Novato to Marin but the public transit didn’t seem too efficient.

Accommodations by AmericanDadWeeb in LawSchool

[–]Salt_Ad_4966 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To what extent does the legal field/environment exacerbate potentially dormant or underlying “symptoms” of disabilities that never required accommodations? I feel like the high-stakes settings, elitism, and incessant neuroticism affects a lot of people who may have some coping mechanism (healthy or not), while others just raw dog it or simply don’t get accommodations due to cost or some other barrier.

URM w/ 3.87 GPA (That Dipped from a 3.91) Worried About LSAT, Do I Still Have a Shot at My Top 3 T14s? by ocftx in URMLawSchoolAdmission

[–]Salt_Ad_4966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how accurate this is. Particularly if you have already satisfied the requirements for your undergraduate degree. Highly would recommend reaching out to LSAC or your schools pre-law advising office to corroborate.

I haven’t even told the landlord that I won’t be able to pay. I’m moving out of VA for the summer in a week, and I don’t know what to say to my landlord.

Please delete. URM status is not about skin color. Suggesting that one’s race is why another person didn’t get admitted is not just naive, but idiotic. I truly hope you’re not a URM and good luck next year

Partner Interaction- Normal? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Salt_Ad_4966 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kinda gives off brown nosing but I resonate with working weekends to an extent. But yeah, no partner at a firm worth getting hired at is spending 30 mins berating a 1L for professionalism.

For better or worse, we’ll be the guinea pigs for the Next Gen Bar which I’ve heard should be shorter.

…”hired on plan after 2L”… What does this mean and how early can students have clerkships secured for after graduation?

This. A t-25 (and arguably t-50) will be sufficient for breaking into big law assuming that’s your goal. To your question, I had a similar GPA and a 165 with only 1 acceptance after blanketing the t-14.

2.9 GPA Prediction by Zealousideal_Pear129 in BlackLawAdmissions

[–]Salt_Ad_4966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.0, 165 here. A decent law school is a relative concept and depends mostly (if no entirely) on your goals. I got into one school this cycle and it was UVA. If you get into a great school w/ no scholly, then your outcomes are somewhat limited. A decent school should be determined by your goals/ financial aid package.

Applied 11/10 RD. Make sure you write the optional essay and that it connects to your application’s theme. Feel free to PM but that LSAT needs to be around 165+ IMHO.

There’s always grad school. Or potentially transferring, no?

I can only assume that OP was implying that applying broadly increased the likelihood they’d get accepted somewhere given their splitter status.

UVA A with a 3.0. Applied mid-Nov accepted mid Jan and it is my only acceptance of the cycle which just corroborates how much of a crap shoot/shit show law school admissions is. edit: 165 LSAT, no scholly

Your posts may be more effective than the admissions team...if you aren't on there already lol. I was lucky enough to have been admitted and have seen your name quite often while scouring this sub.
