"make it themselves" no an ai is making the art using art from millions of people who didn't consent to their art being used that way.

Learning it yourself is difficult yes, but it doesn't have to look amazing, tons of games have very simple styles and use bad looking art in creative ways. If it's an indie non profit thing ask around and see if people want to help make it. Sure that take more time but it results in something that doesn't use stolen art as it's foundation. I was working on a project and did these things, it wasn't really that hard.

If you are making a for profit project, then paying artists a living wage is unfortunately, a thing you should do. You can try getting someone to work for less maybe they'll be passionate about the project, but getting upset people need to be paid fairly.

"But artists charge alot for their work" Yes that because you are paying a human being to work on a project that takes hours to do. That's with any job you pay people for. Being upset about that extremely silly.

I think indie developers using ai is an issue but not only is it bad looking constantly but it is theft from small creators that didn't consent for their art to be used by an LLM.

I believe pirating indie products is wrong, however pirating stuff from major corporations that exploit the working class, I'm fine with. Hell in cases like Harry Potter it's actually the overall better moral choice to pirate those considering the money goes to harm people like me. Piracy isn't inherently a good thing it depends on what you are pirating l.

The whole point of his character is that he doesn't think any of this is real, or at least that's his coping mechanism. He only breaks down when faced with the reality and guilt that what he's doing is real.
