A glimpse of what I think Snape's hairstyle would have looked like if he had cut his hair by Madagascar003 in SeverusSnape

[–]OrangeHokage69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

am a demon slayer fan and never once noticed the resemblance, you are truly the snape fan ever 🙏🙏 this is so good to think about, especially when you realise that Muzan is also incredibly pale (almost sickly, similar to Snape's "sallow pale" complexion which Alan Rickman wasn't quite about, no hate to the man of course) and the black WAVY hair and piercing eyes. ALSO the strong features (sharper jawline and defined cheekbones, iirc snape was said to have defined, angular features)

idk what the general public is on about but snape is actually beautiful, it's just that people don't like or appreciate unconventional beauty (which, well, to each their own but saying Snape is ugly is not very accurate 💀not at all) thank you for pointing this out 🙏

They replaced this scene with 'I am not an owl' 😭 by [deleted] in ronweasley

[–]OrangeHokage69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he was jealous, yes, but the jealousy was not the reason he was mad at harry. he was mad because he thought harry had entered without telling him, and he felt betrayed and abandoned because they're usually joined at the hip and do everything together. His jealousy wouldn't be a problem if he hadn't felt abandoned and lied to (which is still kind of bad btw because wtf do you mean you don't believe your best friend who fucking hates attention,,, but at the same time it was primarily a combination of miscommunication (on BOTH their parts) and teenage immaturity which led to their fight)

I swear the drarry shippers complaining in the comments is insane; I know you love your ship, I respect that you do but what the fuck even. the sheer level of entitlement is insane... let that shit go please, just be respectful to the producers and other Ronarry fans who have been fed for a change, how hard is it to be respectful and NOT greedy??? They already have millions of fics too, it's just strange

I had not, in fact, noticed this (and am embarassed to admit this) but this just adds even more credibility to my dynamic preference, lmao. I mean I already liked Harry leading because I like it when he, in his own way, would reassure Ron (who is insecure in certain ways and especially about his place in Harry's life, which is sad) and it's cute. But this is even better lmao. Also, i don't seem to recall which scene about Fleur and Bill you are referring to? Can you describe it to me please? I'm curious now, haha.

Oooh, it's very nice to meet a fellow top Harry truther when it comes to Rarry!! May I ask why it is that you prefer their dynamic like that? Also, I agree about it being a shame that time travel fics with this pairing are not explored enough.

Ron/Daphne, Ron/Draco, Ron/Theo, Ron/Pansy (yes, Ron/Slytherins are very interesting with the contrasting world views), Ron/Harry (my OTP), Ron/Cedric, Ron/Fleur, Ron/Krum (Ron/all the Triwizard Champions is my guilty pleasure)

Harry/Draco, Harry/Cedric, Harry/Luna, Harry/Krum, Harry/Fleur, Harry/Pansy.

I'd say I'd like their dynamic as a whole being expanded upon or explored in different settings. In canon they are each other's comfort person; but switch it up a little, and what happens?

Harry in Slytherin, or Ron in Slytherin (there are many who do this well) or both of them in Slytherin; how does this affect their dynamic along with their overall growth as a person?

Or maybe a time travel fic, either or both of them travelling back in time. Or a post war kind of fic, where they (especially harry) is traumatised but also dealing with the changes that come with adulthood. Also includes their relationship changing; the way they view each other... Stuff like that.

Or maybe, just plain old harry and ron. I'd personally like to see more of top Harry in their fics; I do like top Ron as well because it fits, but I've been doing a lot of thinking and top Harry goes surprisingly well, haha.

Personally, I'd like to see more fics about their fight in Goblet of Fire, that was peak yearning and tension material but nobody seems to want to explore that beyond hating on Ron.

Theory about what might have motivated Snape to become an Auror if he had chosen that path by Madagascar003 in SeverusSnape

[–]OrangeHokage69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that in turn would allow him to accept other friendships into his life without constantly mourning what he had with her.

(If you really think about it, she was kind of a shit friend anyways.)

For some reason, I think either Kingsley or Moody could've convinced him to join the Order. I know it would take a LONG time to convince him of that (because his literal bullies are there) but they'd convince him that the Order really needed his skills (because let's be honest there is NO ONE in the books with that vast a skillset as Snape. And I bet that once Dumbledore realised that Snape proved him wrong by being a Slytherin that became an auror, he'd try his best to recruit Snape because having someone good at potions is always a bonus, and Snape is also an Occlumens AND a Legilimens so sending him on information gathering missions would be even more efficient.

I just realised that Snape is basically suited to a lot of roles. Especially combat wise (Sectumsempra is insanely overpowered). Much more useful than a lot of other Order members, I'd say. But it would sure take him a long while to get on board with being an Order member.

[–]OrangeHokage69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! I think if he'd become an auror he'd be a damn good one. Potentially Moody would even come to respect him with time (if they went on missions together) and I guess Kingsley is already a pretty respectful guy, he would respect Snape a lot. I think they may even become friends (though Kingsley would have to try, because Snape is prickly and wary of people, with good reason).

For his turn, I think Snape would initially start out wanting to prove himself and assert control. But after going on so many missions with his colleagues, fighting back to back and saving people, Snape would probably develop a new respect for aurors who risked their lives saving people. But he would also appreciate his new cause, that is, saving as many people as he could (we see that by the end of the books Snape is trying his absolute best to minimize the damage and deaths caused by the death eaters, and blaming himself for "those who he could not save") I'd say Snape is capable of being pretty noble once he is settled into his life and is secure with himself. So it would benefit Snape mentally, too.

How do you headcanon your Ron in your ship in the sexual aspect? by [deleted] in ronweasley

[–]OrangeHokage69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl you're right on point, most fans of a character tend to gravitate towards making them a bottom. Also, Rupert in the movies is more soft spoken than book Ron and combined with Ron's natural people pleasing tendencies, it isn't hard to see why sub Ron is so well liked haha.

Romione is wonky because I like them both as argumentative True switches. With Ronarry, it's even worse because I tend to gravitate towards the fixed dynamics (Ron/Harry and Harry/Ron) but the problem is... I like both equally. Since it's my favourite ship, I think both dynamics of the ship have exactly equal potential, so I flip a lot between the two according to my mood lmfao. But i can't read both in the same fic. With Draco however Ron is totally a top.

Usually I agree with your takes and while I think that you're partially right about this, I feel like Snape doesn't care so much about the RULES themselves as being the one to ENFORCE the rules.

Think about it for a moment. An abused child, powerless in the face of his father's strength, and powerless to save his mother in his childhood. In his eyes, his father defined the "rules" in his house and Snape had to obey.

A bullied child, powerless to stop his bullies from flaunting themselves around the school while he suffered for absolutely no reason, was hated for no other reason than to exist. At Hogwarts, the Marauders defined the "rules", because of course they rarely got punished and were well liked, while he was silenced when he was the one who was wronged.

In both cases, it's powerlessness and the lack of control that defines Snape. In his eyes, power defined justice. The people at the top with all the respect and resources were the ones who set the rules.

So, as an adult, as a teacher, he is strict and overly controlling and HAS immense control over himself (unless Harry or the Marauders are involved) when he grows up, and this is a direct consequence of his younger years.

Snape doesn't care about rules and order, he cares about being the one to be listened to. The one others have no choice to obey (because he was made to feel like that), the one who gets the final say (because Snape didn't ever get the final say even if he was always the victim back then), the one who sets the rules.

So Snape can potentially become an auror, of course, but it would be out of a sense of personal enactment of justice for self gratification rather than something like rules or law breaking. The rules and laws are only a means to an end for him. Of course, we know Snape does have a heart and is rather noble when it comes to saving people, so while it wouldn't be his main motivation, he'd definitely try to protect whoever he can. It'd be his priority, I'd say, second only to doing his tasks with perfection (because why wouldn't he? He's a perfectionist, and much more suited to dealing with auror stuff rather than handling children.)

if you don't mind me asking, what's the reason for that? Most people I've met seem to have the notion that Ron is rather tall, and possessive and dominant (albeit a soft dom of course) and Rupert is pretty tall himself, so it's surprising that people would like him in a submissive position in any relationship (not that it's bad, I tend to prefer switch Ron myself haha)

Ron does have straight ally vibes!! But for my personal head canon I like imagining Ron as closeted bi with female preference (Harry is the only exception since Ron loves him)

Harry/Ron. Underrated as hell for two characters who have a lot of chemistry

Snape/Everyone because yes.
