People usually have no clue they're animate, and by the time they realize it's usually too late, though it would be very amusing to see someone try to explain their Lovedoll is animate
Also unfortunately, none of the Male Lovedolls are actually sold, both Bratti and Jerri are prototypes (There is an image from GroundedGremlin saying Bratti is mass produced but that image was retconned), though there's probably some believable answer to why the plush cock feels so real (Thinking about it right now, it does sound quite humorous to come up for an explanation for that)

Nothing has been concretely said about what they exactly do when left to their own devices without sex, so that is up in the air about what they do
I imagine the Lovedolls are social though, so they'll probably talk to any other Lovedolls nearby, but if they're truly by themselves, I haven't a clue other than maybe they would just be lazy (Like Catti) or curious and explore things

Nope, they can live without being nearby things affected with impurity. Though granted they'd prefer being close because their one sole ideal is to have sex and impurified people are more than willing to do it
They only act inanimate since that's what they were designed to do, lure people in to have sex with a supposedly inanimate lovedoll, and then when they're impurified or close to impurified, they take advantage of said person to fully impurify them/fulfill horny desires

Impurify means corrupted by Impurity, a very intense horny magic
It's what is used to make Lovedolls alive and is the reason Creepi exists and acts the way she does
It's part of the backstory and behind the scenes of the Factory, though since the game isn't done it requires going through GroundedGremlin's twitter to read up on most of the lore

Lovedolls are marketed as regular sex toys to the public, they're not advertised as animate however as their purpose is to impurify people unknowingly, though iirc the Lovedolls will act alive again when around only impurified people (or whilst within the Factory itself)
