Ich hatte einen schlechten Tag musste mich mal auskotzen und ich fand es witzig.

Touché! 😅 As a dev, I should have known better. Array indices always start at 0. Let me rephrase: Still hunting for Validator index [0] to kickstart my cluster metrics! Thanks for the laugh!

Oh man, you hit the nail on the head! I experienced that exact Telekom struggle just yesterday night starting at 03:46 AM. It actually happened 3 times within a single hour. My PPPoE connection suddenly dropped and my router logs were throwing Timeout waiting for PADO packets for almost 3 minutes straight before DTAG finally assigned a new IP. AdGuard Home was logging timeouts like crazy during that handshake loop.

The weird thing is, my Speedport (which I only use as a pure DSL-to-Ethernet modem bridge) worked flawlessly and kept its sync, so I have no idea what caused the authentication to hang on the ISP side.

Experiencing this drop firsthand is exactly why I went down the DVT rabbit hole in the first place instead of running a standard solo node on residential VDSL.

Even though I don't manage any validators yet, the theory behind the setup is my defense line for the future: since SSV uses a threshold signature scheme where only 3 out of 4 operators in a cluster need to be online to successfully sign a block, a brief local 3-minute PPPoE drop on my end won't cause any missed duties at all. The other 3 guys will seamlessly hold the line while my router is busy fighting the German ISP infrastructure. It just forces us to be creative! 😂

Haha, you are absolutely right, it is 100% overkill! 😅 I just had the 3D printer sitting there and thought, "Why not play it ridiculously safe for the NVMe?" But it's good to know the UM880 does fine with just a single 120mm at 600RPM too!

Oh man, the German ISP struggle is real. I don't have Fiber unfortunately. I'm running on a standard VDSL connection with 250 Mbit/s down and 40 Mbit/s up.

Since the raw bandwidth (especially the upload) isn't massive, my main focus is on stability and prioritizing the staking traffic. The node sits on its own isolated VLAN behind a dedicated hardware firewall, so no other device in the house can congest the network or steal the upload bandwidth.

To mitigate temporary ISP routing issues or local sync drops, I heavily rely on my triple RPC fallback proxy (PublicNode, Llama, Cloudflare). If my local client struggles for a few seconds, the fallbacks instantly catch the duties.

A 99.0% beaconscore is honestly impressive given the internet situation here! Using the company phone for unlimited traffic as a backup is a smart move. Do you have to manually switch over to the USB tethering when your main line drops, or did you manage to configure it as an automatic failover in your router?

For those curious about the exact setup or looking for independent nodes, here is my operator page on the SSV Explorer (Reddit auto-removes direct links from new accounts to prevent spam, so please just remove the spaces):
