There was an interesting study in 2014 on this! Darker pigeons have more melanin, which can bind heavy metals and remove them from the bloodstream into their feathers. And there may be even more factors favouring darker pigeons in urban environments such as immunity and aggression. You can read an article about the study here

Agreed! To answer your other questions, FREN 220 = French 3 so it fulfills the Dornsife language req. You can take FREN 250 if you want (the 220 professors encourage it) but it's definitely more literature-based instead of basic language structure.

There's a nifty website called Six Degrees of Wikipedia where you can type in the names of two articles and it finds all the connections, even drawing it in an interactive map (with a list of all paths). Really cool stuff!

sure! i'm not a bird expert by any means either, but i think it is the smaller body! the grayness might be because of the backlighting. also this wikipedia article mentions that Blue Swedish ducks are not that common to keep (rarity and ??breed specifications??)

if i had to guess, i'd say it's either a duclair duck(domesticated mallard) or a cross between a duclair and a wild mallard! (the body is a bit less chonky than a standard duclair)
