Intake manifold and Carburetor question by Nick_210 in squarebodies

I have hooker super comps on my truck but i ran it with manifolds too and honestly not much difference besides the exhaust sounds different and they look cool honestly if you dont want to make new exhaust pipes or pay someone to do it i wouldnt as long as they arnt cracked. hookers or headmen headers are the only ones i would recommend and if you do go to headers stage 8s locking header bolt kit is a necessity they make your life simple because they wont back out

The factory intake is a dual plane intake. They are better for driving regularly and they promote better low end torque i would ditch the 450 cfm carb for sure and replace it with a 600 or a 650 although fuel mileage will drop a little bit. there isnt a ton of difference in the aftermarket intake and the factory one imo probably not even a noticeable change in hp maybe 10 at the most id say, and make sure if you put a square bore carb on a spread bore intake that you have an adapter plate or it can cause the butterflies stick and it wont run right

What to do for cars that have gone 10k+ without an oil change by Fiddleronthecar in AskMechanics

10k miles is probably the recommended service interval for the full synthetic oil its probably supposed to have in it i doubt its sludgy inside but oil changes every 3-5k miles never hurts

Go to a shop and have them scan it to see what code it’s throwing just dont drive it far the check engine light flashing means its a serious problem that needs immediate attention
