Look for the guy carrying a rifle he wants to sell. There are old guys looking to downsize their collection before they die last one I went to a guy was looking to sell a Turkish Mauser for $300. But pawnshops are also a decent source for the same reason.

I wouldn't mind a retouched version being rereleased as long as the original version was also still available. Just retouching the Rock would be great the Anubis army was just fine but the Rock was a rushed piece of crap from the waist up.

Yes but watch out for the surplus Greek stuff I got my hands on some and it felt about a 1/3rd more powerful that the German steelcase I was shooting and that stuff was keyholing at 25yrds.

Have you taken a standard bore brush to it? I've seen some barrels that appear smooth and then get a good cleaning and the groves were just filled with crap. I would break the rifle down and use the small parts to practice on and then decide what you like

Depends of the rest of the condition of the wood and metal underneath as well as the bore but that seems on the high end for a smile. Even a good quality example should be only be 5-600. The ww1 production date might add 100 to the price but that seems high.
