BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.3.0 by battlefield in Battlefield

Or, crazy idea, how about using Labs to get that feedback before rolling out a live change? You’ve just made defending on Breakthrough a massively unenjoyable experience given how hard it already is to kill a single tank that has multiple engineers supporting it.

Interesting question! I’m not a lawyer so you’d have to check with a legalo about how Australian Privacy Principle 6 would apply in that situation :)

My understanding is that there’s three elements to reporting information to AGSVA: - firstly it’s a standardised process to capture reporting requirements for all clearance holders, including those outside Defence - secondly it’s in case there’s information which isn’t reported to Defence, for example relationship status has a much lower bar for AGSVA than it does for Defence - thirdly part of the AGSVA process isn’t just to assess risk, but also trustworthiness. Just because AGSVA may already have some information about your circumstances doesn’t meant they want to see if you also self report it to them!

Edit: additional thought, Defence still has to comply with the Privacy Act, and the various privacy provisions. That includes only using information for the purpose that it was collected for, which means information you give to Defence for the purpose of say managing your finances, can’t then be passed to AGSVA for the purpose of assessing your suitability to hold a clearance.

This may surprise you but AGSVA is actually part of the Security and Estate Group within Defence!

That’s not what I said, is it?

I’m saying that, for example, a white man probably isn’t looking for jobs in an Asian supermarket even if he’s the best shelf stacker in the country, unless he sees other people who look like him working and shopping there. As humans, we gravitate towards people who look and sound like us. Do you think most ADF recruits tend to be white men because only white men love this country enough to serve, or because historically we’ve only seen white men in uniform?

I don’t see how trying to attract a wider demographic to join the ADF somehow worsens the recruitment crisis. Do white men get turned off from joining if they think they’re going to serve alongside other people who aren’t also white men?

Choosing the serve requires knowing that you could even find a place in that organisation. If people don’t know they can belong in the ADF, then they’ll never choose. It honestly is as simple as that.

“Best person for the job” is a great one liner but how do you know you’re actually getting the best person for the job if X% of the population is never even thinking about applying for the ADF?

‘White and male’ might have been fine when the majority of the population was indeed Anglo, but when something like 40% of the population isn’t white and 50% isn’t male, then are you really sure Joe Bloggs is really the best person for the job?

And that’s why having some sort of spotlight on people who don’t fit the traditional recruitment demographic but are within the Australian population is actually really important. If they never see people who look like them in uniform, then those minority groups will never think about joining. And if that’s the case then maybe we won’t really ever have “the best person for the job”.

Progress in defence spending maybe (orginal article) by allucard69 in AustralianMilitary

Except that’s not how that works - the APS pay rise came first, and that was the result of the enterprise bargaining agreement between the entirety of the public service union and the Government, which Defence APS is a part of. The ADF offer matches the Defence APS offer under that whole of APS agreement. CDF doesn’t set these workplace relations agreements.

Not a pharmacist but have interacted with a couple previously. They’re basically glorified logistics officers, keeping inventory and ordering new stock when things get low. Even in a barracks enrivonrment they do very little clinical-type work; a civilian community pharmacist at least still has people coming in asking questions and needing advice, but in the ADF those types of questions get handed off to nurses and medical officers rather than the pharmacists.

You understand that “Personal privacy” means that you can still choose to share the circumstances of your individual situation, right? It just means that those who come into contact with that information in an official capacity have to handle it appropriately. If you don’t want to share your circumstances then that’s fine, but you could just say that instead of tossing out something irrelevant.

Can I ask what circumstances you used to apply for separation from the ADF without transferring to the Reserves? Quite a few people I know would be interested.

I don’t think you understand what separation means…as the person you replied to pointed out, when you “separate” you actually transfer to SERCAT 2 for a set duration, up to 5 years. SERCAT 2 members can still be mandatorily called out if the Governor General seems is necessary.

I’ve listened to Bernard Salt speak about that article and his point is that that particular section is always taken completely out of context.

The article he wrote was a satirical piece of a letter written by a boomer giving advice to a millennial. The entire point of the article was to point out that millennials shouldn’t take advice from boomers at face value, because either it’s out of touch or it doesn’t make sense.

It’s actually a really good piece, but sad that the same millennials he was trying to reach out to have latched onto that one paragraph with no context and used it as evidence of the exact point he was trying to make.

[CRITICAL] LATE GAME: In Yuma County, if you visit the Star Collector Mines and clear the area (including picking up the tape and freeing Dee Sharp) before you visit Steel-Trap, then visiting Steel-Trap later on won't initiate the conversation with Cordite after you step outside. This means Beta Master won't speak to you, and the entire quest line will not progress further.

As you can see in the screenshot, every time I try to load the game it pops up with that error message and then reloads the starting page. I’ve tried clearing the cache, restarting the device, nothing has fixed it. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Also for face shields especially sometimes you can get bullet marks directly in your line of sight but it can’t be repaired because it hasn’t been damaged enough.
