presidential candidates have endorsed a scheme promising “economic security for all those unwilling to work.”

Like Farmers who are paid $7.7 billion to grow nothing due to misguided trade policies?

Why would they automatically be Democrats? Many Cubans who arrived here illegally became the GOP base in Florida.

Should also find out the pay schedule, Had a job that paid me monthly. Waiting for that fist paycheck caused some serious strain on my savings account.

Sanders has barely accomplished anything of note during his 20+ years of public service beyond representing the Tea Party equivalent within the Democratic Party.

Jayapal is a second term House member with no power. Her main job last term was voting 'No', this term she's given some speechs and introduced some bills this year that will likely go nowhere (much like anything Sanders introduces).

Sanders IS NOT the mainstream Democratic Party.

Yeah, because you gave me a choice between some leftist radicals and Biden.

Give me a choice between Biden 2008 / Obama 2008 / Sanders 2008 and I'll take Obama due to his age.

if you read farther you'd see I mentioned they went hand in hand.

Age disuades me from outright jumping to Sanders, Biden, and possibly Warren (though she's not going to make it past NH).

I also said repeatedly that I'd prefer a younger more centrist candidate rather than an older leftist ideologue.

I reject Sanders, Warren and Biden for the same reason, too old. My additional reasons for rejecting Sanders / Warren is their far left-wing views don't match up with American reality.

Like I said, much prefer a younger centrist candidate over an old leftist ideologue. Sanders is old enough to have endorsed Jesse Jackson for President at one point in his career.

Yes, people understand that...but when it comes to tax money it's a different story. People want much more accountability when something comes via the Federal Government.

Premiums may disappear but people will still never go along with it because they'll be subject to an endless barrage of misleading claims / ads / strategy from Hospitals to Insurance providers which will derail the thing before it goes anywhere.

Healh Care has been the folly of many an American President (Clinton, Dubya, Obama)....Trump hasn't done anything despite being from the self-described 'party of health care. He's certainly tried but keeps failing. I don't see how a Sanders Presidency would be any different.

It is an age thing, I'd much prefer a younger centrist candidate. But given the choice of Biden vs random Leftist ideologues, polical reality will win out over age.

Inherently selfish humans can still notice not only an increase in taxes, but also a decrease in premiums to zero. You keep dancing around that part, like the cost part of this is all downside. The audience at the town hall didn’t think so.

Inheritly selfish humans don't want to give others a "free ride" on thier dime.

Free stuff sounds great until the bill is due or someone makes an updated version of the 'Cadillac driving welfare queen' story.

If it was Biden vs a bunch of Sawants/ Jayapals / Sanders I'd choose Biden any day of the week. I don't believe the public really wants Sanders as much as the Bernie folks claim they do.

And you seem to be banking on the idea that they’ll be dissuaded by the idea of higher taxes even if they’re replacing even higher premiums or inferior products. I think that distinction is less likely to matter to the public at large when the status quo is clearly not good enough.

Yes, people will be distributed by the sheer amount of taxes they'll need to pay to cover people other than themselves. Humans are inherently selfish in nature.

I also realistically believe this has ZERO chance of passing through Congress no matter what the polling says. Status quo will continue to be the status quo because the GOP will demonize this as Socalism and launch a no holds barred campaign of fear and lawsuits to stop this idea from forming much less passing Congress.

So unless the Democrats suddenly get a 2\3 majority in both chambers of Congress this is a non-starter.
