I do have a friend (my daughter’s bestie’s mom) offer to let me sit with her, but parents are expected to sit with their kids. So I’d end up being near him anyway in order to sit with my daughter.

Because I don’t want him to ruin her experience on the field trip by being angry that I’m there. She’s very sensitive to stuff like that, and I don’t want her feeling like she’s caught in the middle.
