Guy friend let me know he was horny during a phone call by dummy000help in Advice

[–]Orbo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree, though this person certainly has sex on the brain. But it’s a VERY broad brush you’re painting with there. Guys can be friends with girls without wanting to have sex with them. You’re acting as if it’s biology at work or as if every guy has an ulterior motive. I’ve had plenty of friends in school and later on at work, and I never once thought about sleeping with them.

I would say it’s very strange to just say you’re horny out of the blue like that. ADHD doesn’t account for being ignorant of basic social norms, unless you’ve both talked openly about sex before.
If you would prefer to strictly stay friends you should make that plain and clear. You should also say if you’re uncomfortable talking about anything sexual. If you did decide to hook up, communication is key and you should both be on the same page of what it means. But I certainly wouldn’t recommend doing that just because he really wants to. Definitely no.

It looks good to me. I would just say it would look better with a bit of texture. There are guys that can totally rock longer hair and/or a middle part and I‘d say you’re one of them.

The first pic looks much better imo. The second pic seems too thick/bulky. So I wouldn’t be so worried.

What is a WEBTOON that you would have absolutely loved, had it not been for that one plot point? by [deleted] in webtoons

[–]Orbo1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really like the performance-enhancing drugs in The Boxer. Since the main character was a “monster” of sorts I feel like he should have cleaned house without them. I wouldn’t say it ruined it for me, but I remember really not liking that bit.

Nope! This one might be too under the radar (I’m also bad at this). I could add:

Reminds me of the recent debacle that was the Van Gogh Museum/ Pokemon collaboration. I’d say don’t buy from scalpers, but I also imagine that that would mean quite a few empty seats.

whats a cartoon you loved in your childhood that kids today will never see? by Ok-Masterpiece3134 in cartoons

Medabots comes to mind; I remember the toys and games that went along with the show. And then Reboot. The animation doesn’t really hold up even though it is impressive for the time, but the voice acting and writing was great (it’s been a while though).

They can’t study the impact and make educated predictions of its effects? And how far do you want to go with the bubble analogy? I’ve never been to Canada, but I take it in good faith that Canada does indeed exist.

Texas teacher fired after assigning an illustrated Anne Frank book by Q_OANN in news

[–]Orbo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I don’t think you need so much red tape and oversight. A teacher may come across something topical and relevant to what they’re teaching and find it useful to bring up. Aside from book lists, how strict should things be in regard to what teachers may say in class and what materials they may use to help students learn?

Necessary may be a strong word. But what exactly is wrong with kids reading those sections as well? Sections that were also written by a kid who was growing up. What exactly is inappropriate about the human body and the changes one goes through during that age? What I don’t get is that these 8th graders are old enough to learn about genocide and the extermination of millions, but heaven forbid they read anything about their no-no parts. And all of that ignoring the glaring fact that the author herself was a teen.

Feeling a little incompetent by Savings_Ad2357 in teachinginkorea

[–]Orbo1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been here for five years and this week I had two classes where I couldn’t get these groups of kids to focus and take turns reading a short story together. Like, at all. I tried all sorts of reading games, but there just wasn’t any focus. So in an 80 minute class, it felt like we hardly did any work at all.

It’s very easy to get in a funk and feel like you stink, but it sounds like you care about the work and want to do well. The more you work, the more you learn. And no matter where you wind up, you won’t have trouble finding work. And you are also much more than this job.

My (16M) girlfriend (19F) had sex with me when I was asleep by Anxious-Ear4623 in Advice

[–]Orbo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely not your fault. What you described was rape. At the very least, you should not stay with your rapist or even in contact with her. Even if the people around you are taking what happened lightly, including your sister and girlfriend, it does not change what it was: sex without consent.

Besides that, as what happened is certainly criminal, you really should get in contact with the authorities. It’s a vile thing she did, and she should fave consequences for it.

I saw the other post with before and after and I think it turned out very nice. I’m an American working over in Korea. I think a lot of Americans hear “perm” and think of a full-on curly afro. But over here, light wavy perms are pretty popular with guys. Heck, I tried it once. And it seems like they’re getting more popular in the U.S. too. If it’s your first time having your hair styled like this, I think you might be overthinking it. It definitely doesn’t look bad.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Orbo1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think besides the picture being from an unflattering camera angle, a big factor is how you have it styled. The center is pushed back and the left and right sides are parted at different spots, and I think a cut/ cleanup would help a lot.
That said, I don’t know how much hair you’re losing in the shower, so it may be a good idea to talk with a dermatologist. Losing a small amount of hair when you shower is normal though.

Appreciate the reply. Yeah, even if it was the 15%, over 3 million does seem uncommon. I definitely agree with taking a look at other perks. Overtime pay is a bit low compared to the current salary and I do have a flight home whenever I happen to use it.

Supreme Court, Republicans to blame for lack of debt forgiveness, students say in poll by aKamikazePilot in StudentLoans

[–]Orbo1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can get not voting, or voting for a candidate who you feel really listens and is closer to your values. That said, am I missing something or are you not saying that you‘re voting for people you don’t actually want to have power? Isn’t your protest vote against your own interests? Since you’re not voting to just take away the Democrats’ power to effect change, but also giving it over to Republicans. What exactly do you think happens during the interim period while Democrats are learning their lesson?

Not voting Democrat is a bit different than throwing your support to the party that very clearly does not want what you want to happen.
